Cost-of-living pressure finds its way into almost every corner of life: the decisions we make, the things we postpone, the conversations and interactions we have at home, and the amount of mental space money occupies.

Financial pressure is a very real source of stress for many Australians right now. We understand and empathise. If the cost of accessing psychological support is a concern, please contact Endeavour Psychology to ask about our lower-cost options.

Each month at Endeavour Psychology we highlight a book that brings clarity, grounding, or practical insight. A physical copy is displayed in our main reception area for you to look through while you wait.

For September we are featuring The Wardrobe Project: A Year of Buying Less and Liking Yourself More by Emma Edwards .brokegeneration

Through a year-long challenge to stop buying new clothes, Emma Edwards explores the psychology behind consumerism, identity, and self-worth. This thoughtful book encourages readers to reflect on the emotional drivers of spending and discover greater satisfaction through intentional choices rather than constant consumption.

Three meaningful takeaways from this book:
• Why we buy what we buy
• Break the cycle of consumerism
• Buy less, value yourself more

Take a look next time you visit Endeavour Psychology and let us know your thoughts.

A transport accident can affect far more than the body.

For some people, the psychological impact continues long after the accident itself, through trauma responses, driving fears, grief, pain, or the challenge of adjusting to a life that has changed.

We welcome TAC clients at Endeavour Psychology, with appointments currently available in Geelong West and any location via telehealth.

We also provide compassionate grief and bereavement support for people affected by loss in a transport accident.

Today our Director Dr Lisa Burke and our Practice Operations Coordinator are both participating in the 2026 Australasian Society for Artificial Intelligence in Mental Health (ASAIMH) Annual Conference. We are proud to be active members of ASAIMH.

AI is already changing healthcare. For us, engaging with that change means taking it seriously: Staying informed about emerging evidence, understanding the ethical and professional implications, and thinking carefully about where AI can genuinely support good practice.

The conference brings together educators, clinicians, researchers and thought leaders working at the intersection of AI and mental health, with discussion spanning education, clinical practice, ethics, AI literacy, training and the evolving role of health professionals.

We believe professionals need to be actively participating in these conversations as the technology develops, with clinical judgement, professional responsibility and the human relationship remaining central to care.

We learn something from the routes that don't work. Every attempt moves you forward.

Progress involves trying, adjusting, reconsidering and trying again. Sometimes what doesn't work teaches us just as much as what does.
