🧠 Nutrition isn't one-size-fits-all – especially for neurodivergent individuals.

For many autistic people, those with ADHD, dyslexia and other neurodivergent individuals, eating can be influenced by far more than hunger.

✨ Sensory sensitivities to textures, tastes, smells and temperatures.
✨ Executive functioning challenges that make planning and preparing meals difficult.
✨ Differences in recognising hunger and fullness cues.
✨ Medications that can affect appetite or food preferences.

These experiences are real, valid, and deserve support—not judgement.

At Complete Dietetics, we take a neuro-affirming, weight-inclusive approach to nutrition. We work alongside children, adolescents and adults to understand their unique experiences with food, creating practical strategies that support nutrition while respecting individual needs, preferences and goals.

Our support may include:
🌿 Navigating sensory differences around food
🍽 Building flexible, sustainable eating routines
💙 Supporting nutritional adequacy without pressure
🤝 Working collaboratively with families and other members of your care team

There is no "perfect" way to eat. Together, we focus on what works for you.

✨ MYTH vs FACT ✨

❌MYTH: "Everyone bloats, so you just have to live with it."

✅FACT: While occasional bloating can be a normal part of digestion, frequent, painful or persistent bloating isn't something you should simply put up with.

Bloating can have many different causes, including:
🌿 IBS
🚽 Constipation
💨 Swallowing excess air
🍎 Certain foods (for some people)
🌸 Hormonal changes
💛 Stress

The good news? The answer isn't always eliminating more foods from your diet.

Rather than guessing or following advice from social media, understanding why you're experiencing bloating is the first step towards finding strategies that work for you.

If bloating is impacting your comfort, confidence or daily life, our Accredited Practising Dietitians can work with you to identify the underlying cause and provide personalised, evidence-based support—without unnecessary food restrictions.

✨ Nutrition support for Multiple Sclerosis – now featured in the Geelong Advertiser! 💚📰

🤩We're proud to see our Director and Dietitian Emma Gore recently featured in the Geelong Advertiser, highlighting the important role nutrition can play in supporting people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

While there isn't a diet that can cure MS, research suggests that healthy dietary patterns may support overall health, symptom management and quality of life. Nutrition is one piece of the puzzle and works best as part of a multidisciplinary approach.🧩

At Complete Dietetics, we provide evidence-based, individualised nutrition support for people living with MS, including:
❤️Fatigue management
❤️Bowel health
❤️ Swallowing difficulties and texture-modified diets
❤️ Bone health
❤️ Maintaining muscle strength and function
❤️ Practical, sustainable nutrition strategies tailored to your needs

As Emma shared in the article, nutrition is a valuable tool to help people maintain their function and independence while living with MS.

🫶We're honoured to help support our local community and to see this important message shared more broadly through the Geelong Advertiser.

If you or someone you know is living with MS and would like personalised nutrition support, we'd love to help.
