I’ve been thinking about the Geelong Ladies Social Evening and what I actually wanted to create…
Which is simply a night for women to come together, have fun and show up as themselves. For deeper conversations and genuine connections to happen naturally along the way.
I wanted women to have a really good night!!
I wanted them to get dressed up and feel good in what they were wearing. To eat beautiful food, have a cocktail or two, laugh, dance, talk, and meet women they probably never would have crossed paths with otherwise.
I wanted it to feel pretty. Warm. Safe. A little bit sexy and a lot more special. Like you had stepped out of your normal life for a few hours.
Because I think we can lose that part of ourselves…
The part that wants to get dressed up just because! The part that wants to go somewhere beautiful and stay out a little too late. The part that isn’t thinking about the kids, the house, work, everyone else’s needs or what needs to be done tomorrow.
One gorgeous lady told me she couldn’t remember the last time she’d gotten dressed up and gone out like that. She was so nervous about coming that she almost didn’t walk in!
And honestly, that is why I did this!!
Sometimes we forget that healing doesn’t always have to be so serious!
Sometimes looking after yourself can be as simple as remembering that you’re still allowed to have fun. 💃
You’re allowed to feel beautiful!
You’re allowed to eat good food and drink cocktails and laugh with women you met five minutes ago!!
You’re allowed to have a life that isn’t just about the roles you carry.
And when I looked around that room and saw all of that happening, I knew the little idea I’d had in my head for so long had actually become real!
So to every brave woman who said yes to my vision, got dressed up, walked through that door and trusted me with a night that didn’t even exist yet… thank you! 🥹
Especially those who came alone, nervous and almost talked themselves out of it. (Nearly all of you!)
And to everyone who watched my story Friday night and thought, “Ohhh… I should’ve come.”
Yes. Yes you should have!! 😂
Next one.😉
