Day 8 – Victoria to South Australia Extended Respite Trip

Today we officially started making our way back towards Victoria as we said goodbye to beautiful South Australia.

Our first stop for the day was the stunning Glenelg for morning tea, and wow… what a spot!
The views were absolutely incredible and we easily could have spent the whole day sitting back, relaxing and soaking it all in.

Next stop was Kingston Park where we stretched the legs, enjoyed some lunch and even had a little yoga session in the park.

We then called through the beautiful little town of Hahndorf, and it truly felt like stepping into a little German village. With all the autumn colours around, it made the experience even more magical.

As we continued our journey back towards Victoria, we stopped in to admire some amazing silo art along the way — the talent and detail had everyone completely awestruck.

Then came one of the most anticipated stops of the trip… The Australian Pinball Museum!
WOW… this place absolutely did not disappoint. So many incredible machines, memories and things to explore — definitely a highlight for many!

We finally arrived back in Victoria where we’ll be staying in beautiful Halls Gap for the next few days.

To finish off another huge day of adventures, everyone tucked into a delicious spaghetti bolognese packed full of veggies.

Then time for a well-earned sleep in before waking up refreshed and ready for Day 9 adventures.

Day 7 – Victoria to South Australia Extended Respite Trip

Today was all about balance — some of the crew enjoyed a relaxing day back at the house with some well-earned downtime, while others headed off for an exciting adventure at the amazing Adelaide Zoo.

We saw so many incredible animals including pandas, monkeys, orangutans, birds, meerkats and so many more.
What made the experience even more special was being guided around by the wonderful Nola, who was an absolute wealth of knowledge.
She took the time to explain all the little details about the zoo residents and happily answered every question our participants had.
Nola is truly a huge asset to the Adelaide Zoo team and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her. 💕

After the zoo, we enjoyed a stroll through the beautiful Botanical Gardens before making a quick stop to visit Malcolm at Adelaide Oval.

Mario is still patiently waiting for his invitation to the BBQ lunch with Blighty 🤣

After a big day of exploring, it was back to the accommodation for homemade pizzas loaded with everyone’s favourite toppings 🍕 ready to recharge before our next adventure!

Day 6 – Victoria to South Australia Extended Respite Trip

Today we changed up the itinerary and spent the day exploring Monarto Safari Park , hopping aboard the Zu-Loop bus to discover all the incredible animals throughout the park.

Everyone loved getting up close to the animals and learning lots of interesting facts along the way.
There were plenty of smiles, laughs and unforgettable moments throughout the day.

We then made a quick stop into Rundle Mall, however the weather had other plans for us and unfortunately our visit was cut a little short due to the rain.

But it was dinner time anyway… so off to Milky Lane we headed.

WOW! This place was next level — colourful everywhere you looked, music pumping, delicious food and such a fun atmosphere. There was so much to see around the venue and everyone had an awesome time. Definitely a place worth checking out if you’re visiting Adelaide!

Another fantastic day full of adventures and memories.

We started our morning at the peaceful Himeji Garden, where we wandered through the stunning traditional Japanese gardens, soaking in the greenery, tranquil water features and even spotting a few turtles in the pond.
Next, we headed off on a relaxing cruise along the River Torrens, enjoying a guided tour and a delicious Devonshire tea while taking in the sights of the city.
Some of us tried our hand at steering the boat, and Captain Elle took the lead with her previous boating knowledge ⚓️
Unfortunately the rain settled in for the afternoon, so we headed back to the house for some downtime and relaxation.
To finish off the day, everyone came together to cook and enjoy a homemade Chinese banquet for dinner.
The perfect end to another awesome day of adventures and memories together ❤️
