Support Gateways this EOFY 💙

This End of Financial Year, we’re asking our community to help bridge the gap between disability funding and real-life need.

While NDIS funding plays a vital role, it doesn’t always cover life’s unexpected changes. When circumstances shift, people still need to feel safe, supported and connected to what matters most.

Through our Bridging the Funding Gap campaign, your donation helps Gateways step in when funding falls short, providing continuity of care, stability, and dignity during times of transition.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a real local impact. Plus, donations before 30 June are tax deductible.

If you’re able to give, we’d be incredibly grateful for your support.

👉 Donate today and help ensure support continues when it’s needed most.

🪩 Out of this world fun at the Gateways Disco! 🚀

Our much loved tri-annual Gateways Disco returned this month, with an “Out of Space” theme, and it did not disappoint!

🎶💃 With an incredible turnout, the dancefloor was buzzing all afternoon with non-stop moves and plenty of song requests.

A huge thank you to our amazing team who made it all happen, and our fantastic DJs, who kept the energy sky-high.

🍕 We wrapped up the evening the best way possible… with pizza, of course!

💙 Our discos are always a highlight, and we already can’t wait for the next one!

Supported Independent Living is more than just support — it’s about home.

From 1 July, new standards will strengthen quality, safety, and choice, ensuring people feel respected, heard, and supported in their everyday lives.

At Gateways, these reforms simply reinforce our focus on what matters most; putting you first, delivering reliable support, and creating homes where you feel secure and empowered.

💙 Shaping lives, one career at a time

As Gateways celebrates 45 years, we’re proud to recognise the people behind our impact.

Sean (32+ years) and Jayne (nearly 28 years) started in frontline support and have grown into leadership roles, each playing a part in shaping lives and strengthening our community.

What’s kept them here for decades?
✨ The people
✨ The values
✨ The sense of belonging

Their stories show that a career at Gateways is more than a job, it’s a chance to make a real difference.

💙 Want to help create meaningful connections in your community?

At Gateways, our volunteers support people with disability or additional needs to build friendships, connect, and enjoy shared experiences.

For 45 years, we’ve been part of Greater Geelong, creating more inclusive, connected lives.

As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we thank the incredible people who make this possible and invite others to get involved.

Jacquie 💙
Introduced to Gateways through volunteering, Jacquie is now Chair of our Board. Jacquie has been utilising her accounting background to ensure Gateways remains impactful for another 45 years and she encourages others to consider volunteering.

Sue 💙
Introduced to Gateways through her work as a GP (Dr Home), Sue went on to lead fundraising efforts that have supported many of our clients. She finds volunteering incredibly rewarding and encourages others, especially retirees to get involved.

Sophia 💙
Volunteered at our Charity Golf Day & Easter Family Fun Festival through Beyond Bank as a Cooperate Sponsor. Sophia loved connecting with the community and found the experience truly fulfilling, she encourages businesses to give it a go!

David 💙
Joined Gateways through his partner and helped run mini golf at our Easter Family Fun Festival. He had a great time meeting new people!

Hugo 💙
Volunteered with our School Holiday Programs through his studies at The Gordon TAFE. His love of skating and surfing helped him connect with young participants, he says volunteering can change your perspective!

Helen 💙
Discovered Gateways through our Christmas gift wrapping and went above and beyond during busy shifts. She’s already prepping for this year and encourages others to experience the joy of volunteering.

💙 Celebrating 45 Years of Gateways 💙

This year, we mark 45 years of supporting people with disability and their families across Geelong and Melbourne’s west.

What started in 1981 as a small, community-driven initiative, with volunteer families opening their homes to provide respite, has grown into a trusted organisation, built on compassion, inclusion and a belief in a fair go for everyone.

From humble beginnings in shared spaces across Geelong to where we are today, one thing has remained constant, community caring for community.
