We are honoured to be the 2026 ‘Portrait’ artist at Festival d'Automne à Paris ✨❤️

Across November and December 2026, we will undertake an 8-week residency in Paris, presenting a major program of performances, public rehearsals, workshops, masterclasses and community engagement activities.

The program will include FOOD COURT, small metal objects, GANESH VERSUS THE THIRD REICH, RADIAL, and the creative development of NEANDERTHAL – Histoire(s) du Théâtre VIII.

We are proud to share our work with audiences, artists and communities across Paris as part of one of the world’s leading contemporary arts festivals.

For its 2026 edition, the Festival d’Automne is dedicating a Portrait to the Australian company Back to Back Theatre.

For nearly 40 years, the company has held a singular place in the contemporary landscape. Its work is defined by a strong commitment to the inclusion of neurodivergent people, at every level of its practice: from the professional development of performers to the conception and writing of its works.

This Portrait sketches the outlines of an evolving body of work that questions conventions and renews the way disability is seen.
