Most approaches to mental health start with the mind.

But your nervous system was never built that way.

80% of the fibres in your vagus nerve travel upward — body to brain. Your body has always been the one leading the conversation. We’ve just been taught to ignore it.

Safety lives in the body, too.
We spend so much time trying to think our way out of stress — but what if the answer is actually in your body?

This 90-minute workshop is a science-backed, body-based introduction to your nervous system — why it gets stuck in stress responses, and how to gently work with it rather than against it.

Grounded in Polyvagal Theory (Dr Stephen Porges), you’ll learn and experience:

→ How your autonomic nervous system works — and why it responds the way it does
→ Breathwork + body scan to bring your system into awareness
→ Orienting responses and practical regulation tools you can use in everyday life

This is an educational evening with somatic practices woven through to support you. You’ll leave having felt the difference — not just understood it.

If you’ve ever felt better after yoga and couldn’t explain why — this is why.
Yoga has been working with the nervous system for thousands of years. Long before the research, before the terminology, before neuroscience had the language — practitioners were observing what the body does when you breathe a certain way, hold a certain shape, fix your gaze on a single point.
They weren’t guessing. They were paying close attention, over generations, and passing down what they found.
Science is now mapping the mechanisms. And what it keeps finding is that the ancient descriptions weren’t metaphor. They were precise.
The body has always # known. We just need to practise.
