Networking with a side of giving back!

This week our Business and client engagement manager Tahnee did some networking but with a difference! Donating blood for the first time and catching up with some great people. Who says networking can't happen while doing something that genuinely makes a difference?

It's easy to forget just how important blood donations are until you see the numbers:

❤️ Every 18 seconds, someone in Australia needs blood or blood products.
❤️ 1 in 3 Australians will need blood or blood products during their lifetime.
❤️ Just one blood donation can save up to three lives.
❤️ Australia needs more than 29,000 blood donations every week to keep up with demand.

The surprising part? Only around 3% of eligible Australians donate, even though many more are able to.

Donating blood only takes around 10 minutes (allow about an hour for the whole appointment), and it's one of the simplest ways to make a real impact in someone else's life.

If you've ever thought about donating, consider making an appointment with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. You can donate at Lifeblood donor centres across Australia, including right here in Adelaide.

You never know whose life your donation could help. ❤️

🏡 Same great support, different house!

We currently have two fantastic SDA homes available side by side in Morphett Vale.
👨 House 1: Male-only home
👩 House 2: Female-only home – we're currently looking for a new housemate!

Our female only home offers a welcoming, supportive environment where clients can enjoy their own space while being part of a friendly household. With experienced support workers in place and a great location close to local amenities, it's the perfect place to call home.

If you or someone you know is looking for an SDA home and would like to learn more about this house, we'd love to hear from you!

Send us a message or get in touch today to arrange a chat or a viewing.

🏁 Team bonding with a competitive twist! 🏁

Our management team today hit the go-kart track for some well earned team bonding, and let's just say things got a little competitive... especially between our directors!

After plenty of laughs, friendly rivalry, and some surprisingly impressive driving skills, it all came down to the final showdown between Rishi and Dee. In an incredibly close finish, Rishi crossed the line first, beating Dee by just a split second! 🏆

Who do you think deserves a rematch? 👀🏎️💨

🌟 Staff Spotlight – Meet Amit! 🌟

This week, we're excited to introduce Amit, one of our amazing Support Workers here at Care Squad 💙

Amit is passionate about providing person-centred support and helping participants achieve their goals while promoting independence, dignity, and inclusion. He loves building meaningful relationships with participants and being part of their journey, knowing that even the smallest moments can make a positive impact.

For Amit, the most rewarding part of his role is seeing participants grow in confidence, achieve personal goals, and enjoy greater independence. Being able to contribute to someone's wellbeing and quality of life is what drives him every day.

If participants were asked to describe Amit in three words, they would likely say:
✨ Reliable
✨ Compassionate
✨ Supportive

A message from Amit:
"Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. It is a privilege to support you, celebrate your achievements, and work alongside you to reach your goals. Together, we can create a positive, inclusive, and empowering community where everyone feels valued and respected."

Thank you, Amit, for the care, dedication, and positivity you bring to our team and the people we support every day! 👏💙

At Care Squad, feedback isn't just something we ask for.... it's something we genuinely value. 💙

We regularly check in with our participants, families, support coordinators, and other key supports to make sure we're delivering the quality service people deserve.

These conversations help us understand what's working well, where we can improve, and how we can continue to provide support that is client focused, responsive, and meaningful.

We believe that listening is one of the most important parts of what we do. By welcoming feedback and acting on it, we can continue to grow, improve, and ensure the people we support remain at the centre of every decision we make.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to share their thoughts, experiences, and suggestions with us. Your feedback helps us be better every day. ✨

Friday feels, and we are all about that as we are heading into the weekend!

Lately on our socials we’ve been sharing Staff Spotlights and introducing some of the amazing people behind Care Squad 💙

But today, we wanted to do something a little different.

You all know the Directors who helped build Care Squad into what it is today, but behind the scenes, there’s a much bigger reason why they do what they do.

This candid little video shares the heart behind CS, and why our team shows up every single day with passion, care, and purpose.

Because at the end of the day, it’s never just been about providing support, it’s about making a real difference in people’s lives ✨

🎬 Training in Action 🎬

On Friday, our Service Managers Jade and Precious delivered Team Teach training to a staffing team.

The training focused on building staff confidence and skills while supporting clients with high intensity behaviours, using positive behaviour support, communication, and de-escalation strategies.

At our service, ongoing training like this is so important in helping us create safer environments for both the client and staff, while ensuring we continue to provide calm, respectful, and person-centred support!
