⚠️ IMPORTANT NDIS REMINDER FOR PARTICIPANTS & FAMILIES ⚠️
If you receive an unexpected phone call from the NDIS and they say it is “just a check-in”, please be very careful about what information you provide.
If they start asking questions about your plan, your circumstances, your supports or your child’s plan, you do not have to continue the conversation on the spot.
If you ask, “Is this a plan review?” and you are told “No”, but then you receive a new plan shortly afterwards with significant changes or funding reductions, you may understandably feel shocked and confused.
👉 Our advice: If you are contacted unexpectedly and you are unsure what the purpose of the call is, don’t feel pressured to answer questions immediately.
You can simply say:
“I’m happy to discuss this, but I would like my Support Coordinator involved. Please arrange a meeting with us.”
Your Support Coordinator can help you understand what is being discussed and make sure your voice, needs and circumstances are properly represented.
💙 At AccessPlus Solutions, we believe in fighting for the best possible outcomes for our participants.
We believe in being honest, transparent and participant-focused, and we will always encourage our participants to understand what is happening with their NDIS plan and to have the right people involved in important conversations.
Know your rights. Ask questions. Don’t feel pressured to make decisions on an unexpected phone call.
