What is the difference between a bone and a ligament?
Bones are the structures in the body that form the skeleton and provide attachment points for muscles, which help us to move when they contract. Bones are relatively hard and very strong.
Ligaments are soft tissue structures that attach bones to other bones to form joints. They are dense, strong and fibrous and can withstand the large forces placed upon our bodies when we move, to ensure we don’t collapse into a big heap of skin and bone!
