Men's Health Is About More Than Testosterone
When it comes to men's health, testosterone seems to get all the attention.
Feeling tired? Low testosterone.
Weight gain? Low testosterone.
Low libido? Low testosterone.
But the reality is often much more complex.
Many of the symptoms commonly blamed on testosterone can also be linked to poor sleep, chronic stress, blood sugar imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, cardiovascular health issues and burnout.
One of the biggest misconceptions I see in clinic is men wanting to "boost testosterone" without first looking at the foundations of health.
The truth is, your body can't produce and utilise hormones effectively if you're sleeping poorly, constantly stressed, eating highly processed foods and not moving your body regularly.
Another myth is that erectile dysfunction is simply a hormone problem. In many cases, it's actually an early warning sign of cardiovascular disease, diabetes or poor circulation. Sometimes the symptoms we want to ignore are the body's first sign that something deeper needs attention.
The good news?
The same things that support healthy testosterone also support your heart, brain, metabolism and long-term wellbeing:
✅ Quality sleep
✅ Strength training
✅ Whole-food nutrition
✅ Stress management
✅ Daily movement
✅ Meaningful social connection
This Men's Health Week, rather than asking "How do I increase my testosterone?" try asking:
"What does my body need to function at its best?"
Because men's health is about much more than a number on a blood test.
