The daily recommended intake for calcium is 1000-1300mg a day for anyone above 9 years of age. Requirements differ slightly due to different needs at certain life stages.
Dairy is typically the main source of calcium in our diets, however it is possible to meet calcium needs with dairy free foods.
If you or someone you know is struggling to meet their calcium needs on a dairy free diet then speak to an Accredited Practicing Dietitian for tailored advice.

If you struggle with constipation then try adding more insoluble fibre into your diet.
When increasing fibre intake, it is best to start low and go slow.
Remember to drink plenty of water as fibre and fluid are friends!
