It looks strange… but there’s actually good science behind it 👃🎈

This is called an Otovent, a simple device commonly recommended by ENTs for:
• Fluid in the middle ear (glue ear)
• Negative middle ear pressure
• Eustachian tube dysfunction

By blowing up a balloon using the nose, pressure is sent into the middle ear to help open the Eustachian tube, equalise pressure, and improve ventilation of the ear.

For the right child or adult, it can be a simple, non-invasive way to help improve middle ear function and hearing naturally.
Have you or your child ever used one before?

We are incredibly honoured to announce that Ears Truly Audiology has been awarded the 2026 Quality Business Award for Best Hearing & Hearing Aid Service in the City of Stonnington 🏆

This recognition means so much to our team because it reflects what we have always stood for; exceptional care, best-practice audiology, outstanding outcomes, and empowering people through better hearing.

From day one, our vision was to create a clinic focused on outcomes and lifelong hearing success; not transactional care, not a quick sale, not a one-size-fits-all approach, but rather a complete hearing journey focused on long-term success, connection, confidence, and quality of life.

Because hearing is about so much more than sound.
It is about communication, relationships, confidence, independence, brain health, and staying connected to the moments that matter most.

The Quality Business Awards recognise businesses that consistently demonstrate outstanding customer satisfaction, exceptional service quality, strong community reputation, commitment to excellence, and positive client experiences and reviews.

To receive this award in a highly competitive healthcare space is a huge achievement for an independent audiology clinic. It validates the standards we have worked tirelessly to build and maintain since opening our doors.

Most importantly, it reflects the experiences of our clients, the people who have trusted us with something deeply personal: their ability to connect with the world around them.

To every client, family member, doctor, and member of our community who has trusted us, thank you. This recognition exists because of you.

We are so proud to continue raising the standard of hearing care in Melbourne ❤️

Some moments remind us why we do what we do. 💛

One of our beautiful clients brought us flowers today to thank us for helping her on her hearing journey. After spending years as the full-time carer for her adult son with a disability, she sadly lost him last year.

Like many carers, she spent so much of her life putting someone else first. When she first came to us, she was grieving, emotionally exhausted, and trying to find herself again after such a profound loss. One of the first things she decided to do for herself was finally address her hearing.

We gently guided her through the process, step by step, helping her reconnect not just with sound, but with the world around her again.

She is still healing, and grief never truly disappears, but she told us she is so happy she can hear better and so grateful she found us.

Sometimes hearing care is about so much more than hearing aids.

It’s about reconnecting to life, conversations, laughter, friendships, and the moments that make us feel human again.

Stories like this are why we care so deeply about what we do at Ears Truly. 💚

Meet Dennis.

He is 86 and was has been diagnosed with a terminal cancer.
He didn’t see the point in “fixing” his hearing.
He had been putting up with not hearing his daughter… not quite catching conversations with friends… and thought it didn’t really matter.

But his daughter felt differently. She wanted to connect with her dad. To share conversations, laughter, and create lasting memories while they still can.

So she brought him to us and we convinced him to give it a go!

We fitted Dennis with a pair of hearing devices … and everything changed.
He’s now present in those moments again. Hearing, engaging, connecting.
He says ‘ it’s the best decision I’ve ever made
Denis’ story reminds us-It’s not just about hearing- it’s about making the most of the moments that matter, while they matter most.

He travels over 2 hours to see us! Not because he has to, but because he chose the right care.

After months of searching, multiple clinics, and still not feeling heard… he made the decision to come to Ears Truly.

And this is why 👇

“Before making my decision, I did extensive research and visited several local audiologists… I couldn’t find anyone who truly listened or delivered the level of care I was looking for. Travelling two hours to Ears Truly has absolutely been worth it.” 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Because hearing care isn’t just about a device.
It’s about being listened to.
It’s about expertise.
It’s about getting it right.

Since December, we’ve been working closely together to find the right solution — not just any solution.

And here’s the truth…
We will work with you to find the right solution for you.
It may not be the first device you try — and that’s okay.

Because our goal isn’t to fit a hearing aid…
It’s to find the right one.

In Udo’s case — persistence, patience, and expertise paid off.
And we think we’ve finally found it with the new Oticon Zeal hearing aids.

Tailored.
Refined.
Built around his lifestyle — not the other way around.

This is what happens when you combine:
✔️ Independent advice
✔️ Best-practice fittings
✔️ Real listening

Sometimes the right care is worth the distance!

She was shocked when I told her she had a hearing loss…
But the signs were already there 👇

Struggling in background noise.
Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
Feeling exhausted after conversations.
Needing subtitles on the TV.

The truth is — hearing loss doesn’t happen overnight. It creeps in slowly… and most people don’t realise until it’s already affecting their daily life.

If any of this sounds familiar, don’t ignore it.
Getting your hearing checked could change everything.

They finally did it!
We were honoured to be invited to Sydney for the exclusive launch of the new Oticon Zeal — one of only a select few clinics given this opportunity.

And after seeing it firsthand… this isn’t just another device release-it’s a true breakthrough.

For the first time, a hearing device combines AI-powered sound processing, advanced noise reduction, Bluetooth connectivity, and full rechargeability… all in a design that disappears into your ear.

Powered by advanced DNN technology, Zeal recognises speech and reduces background noise in real time, helping you hear clearly in the environments that matter most.

With up to 20 hours of battery life, rapid charging, and even same-day fitting capability, this is where innovation meets real-world lifestyle.

Discreet. Intelligent. Effortless.

We’re so excited to now bring this technology to our clients at Ears Truly.

What’s the MOST important question to ask your audiologist in 2026?

Are you independent?

Because not all hearing care is created equal.

Independence means:
-Access to all leading hearing technology — not just one brand
-Recommendations based on your needs, not sales targets
-Truly personalised solutions for real-world listening

But don’t stop there…

Ask:
-How do you fit and verify my hearing aids? (Real Ear Measurements matter)
-What does your aftercare look like? (Because success happens AFTER the fitting)

The truth is, the right audiologist doesn’t just give you hearing devices, they guide your entire hearing journey.

Choose wisely. Because how you hear shapes how you live.

In this interview, the CEO of the UK’s National Deaf Children’s Society — himself a father of a deaf child — speaks about how powerful it is to see George from Peppa Pig diagnosed with hearing loss and visiting an audiologist.

For many children with hearing loss, seeing a character on TV sitting in an audiology clinic, learning about hearing aids, and getting help to hear better is incredibly meaningful.

Representation like this matters more than people realise.

It shows children that hearing loss is normal, supported, and nothing to hide. It helps them feel seen. It helps them feel included. And it helps families realise they are not alone on this journey.

Dr Vee is a parent to a child with hearing loss, so we know how important it is for children to see themselves reflected in the world around them.
As an audiologist, she also knows how powerful early support can be.

Moments like this help remove stigma and build confidence for the next generation of children growing up with hearing loss.

Thank you, Peppa Pig, for taking such an important step toward inclusion. 👂✨

🚨 UFO spotted in clinic today…

The ‘Unidentified Foreign Object’ was safely removed from a 3-year-old’s ear!

It’s pink.
It’s tiny.
And we have absolutely no idea what it is.

Any guesses?!

Mum reported that her son came home from kinder and was complaining of a sore ear! Moral of the story: If your little one is suddenly complaining of ear pain or saying “what?” more than usual… it might not be their hearing 😅
