A regular cycle doesn’t mean a healthy one..

If the second half of your cycle feels harder than it should (the exhaustion, the mood shifts, the spotting before your period) you likely need some support for your cycle.

Because no, these aren’t just “part of having a cycle”

Unfortunately fertility isn’t always as simple as having regular cycles and good test results..

Egg quality is influenced by what’s happening in the months (yes, months) before ovulation, which means there are things we can work on before your next cycle, your next transfer, or your next attempt at conception.

If you aren’t sure where to start or would like a more personalised approach to fertility support, book a consultation via the link in bio & let’s make a baby! 💙

A period every month does not prove you’re ovulating.

This is one of the biggest myths in fertility.

Many women assume that because their cycle arrives regularly every 28 to 32 days, everything must be working perfectly.

But regular bleeding and ovulation are not the same thing.

You can have a bleed and still have issues with ovulation quality.

You can have a regular cycle and still have a short luteal phase.

You can have a predictable period and still struggle to conceive.

Fertility is about much more than whether a period arrives each month.

It’s about the quality of communication between the brain, ovaries and the rest of the body.

Regular cycles are reassuring.

But they don’t automatically mean fertility is optimised.

If regular periods don’t actually tell us how well you’re ovulating, what else should we be paying attention to? Learn more or book via www.nourishingapothecary.com

More testing does not automatically mean better care.

This might be controversial.

But in clinic, we often see people who have spent thousands of dollars on testing and still don’t have answers.

The problem isn’t always a lack of data.

Sometimes it’s a lack of clinical thinking.

Testing should answer a question.

It should help guide decisions.

It should change what we do next.

Because if a test isn’t going to influence management, we need to ask whether it’s actually necessary.

Good healthcare isn’t about ordering every test available.

It’s about knowing which questions need answering and which information matters most.

More information doesn’t always create more clarity.

Sometimes it just creates more confusion.

If more testing doesn’t automatically lead to better care, the real question is: are we asking the right questions in the first place? Learn more or book via www.nourishingapothecary.com

Season 2 is coming… 🌴🎙️

Jaime and I are in Bali getting ready to film the next season of Inside the Apothecary.

We’ve spent months looking at what you’re asking in clinic, what you’re searching for online, and where we think the biggest gaps in health conversations still exist.

And trust me…

Some of these episodes are going to challenge what you’ve been told.

We’re diving into topics like:

• Why “unexplained infertility” isn’t an explanation
• Why normal pathology doesn’t always mean optimal health
• What recurrent miscarriage might be telling us
• Why s***m health deserves more attention
• The hidden role of inflammation in fertility and hormones
• Why supplements aren’t always the answer
• How clinical thinking changes outcomes

We’ve got the content planned.

The cameras are ready.

And we cannot wait to share it with you.

If you’ve ever felt like you’ve done everything right but still don’t have answers, Season 2 is for you.

Because if the answers were as simple as we’ve been told, more people would already have them.

Why You’re Not Getting Pregnant Even When Everything “Looks Normal”

“You’re ovulating.”
“Your blood tests are normal.”
“Just keep trying.”

So why are so many couples still struggling to conceive?

In this episode of Inside the Apothecary, Jaime and Mel unpack one of the most frustrating experiences in fertility care… when everything looks “fine” on paper but pregnancy still isn’t happening.

We dive into:
• Egg quality and s***m health
• Inflammation and metabolic health
• Nervous system stress and hormone communication
• Ovulation quality and mitochondrial health
• Why the 90 days before conception matter so much
• Why “normal” does not always mean optimal fertility

We also discuss why fertility is rarely explained by one diagnosis, one scan, or one hormone level and why deeper clinical interpretation can completely change the picture.

If you feel like you’re doing everything right but still not getting answers, this episode is for you.

Hormones pulse?!?

20/05/2026

You are not wasting anyone’s time by bringing up what is bothering you.

That weird symptom.
That change in your cycle.
That anxiety that something feels “off”.
That question you nearly didn’t ask because you thought it sounded silly.

A good GP or naturopath would always rather you ask the question than sit at home worrying about it.

This is literally what we are here for.

Sometimes the smallest comments in clinic end up being the biggest clues.
Sometimes people apologise for “rambling” while describing the exact thing that helps us understand the bigger picture.

You do not need to wait until things become severe before asking for support.

Your symptoms matter.
Your concerns matter.
And you deserve to feel heard in your healthcare.

If you feel exhausted but your brain still won’t switch off… this episode is for you.

In of Inside the Apothecary, Jaime and I unpack the “wired but tired” nervous system pattern we see every single day in clinic and how it impacts hormones, sleep, digestion, inflammation, energy, and fertility.

If you’re doing all the right things but still not feeling well, your nervous system may be a much bigger piece of the puzzle than you realise 🎙️
