“My child is only 10. Aren’t they too young to lift weights?”
It’s one of the most common questions parents have about youth strength training.
The answer isn’t about finding a specific age. It’s about making sure the training is appropriate for the individual, with the right exercises, coaching and progression.
For younger athletes, this might mean learning to squat, jump, land, carry and control their body before gradually introducing more resistance as they develop.
The goal isn’t to lift the heaviest weight possible.
It’s to move well, get stronger and build confidence.
We’re excited to be bringing our Youth Athletic Development Membership to Adjust soon - helping young athletes build strong foundations for sport and beyond.
