I just returned from Hawaii after spending time with friends & my parents. I always find that stepping away from the normal day-to-day routine gives me a little more clarity. Being halfway through the year also feels like the perfect time to pause and reflect.

I shared this popular analogy once before, but I could use the reminder myself on a more regular basis. So often, I get caught up in the busyness of everyday life and lose sight of what is truly important.

A professor stood before his class with a large empty jar. He filled the jar with large rocks and asked his students if the jar was full. The students replied that yes, the jar was full.

He then added small pebbles to the jar and shook it so the pebbles filled the spaces around the rocks. Again, he asked, “Is the jar full now?” The students agreed that it was.

Next, he poured sand into the jar. The sand filled all the remaining spaces between the rocks and pebbles. Once more, he asked if the jar was full, and the students said yes.

The professor explained that the jar represents our lives. Our days, weeks, and lives all have a limited capacity.

The rocks symbolise the most important things in life—our health, family, friendships, passions, and self-care. These are the things that money can’t buy.

The pebbles represent the things that matter, but on a smaller scale—our jobs, our homes, our cars, our possessions, and our hobbies.

And the sand represents everything else: the small, insignificant things that can quietly consume our time and energy- scrolling on social media, worrying about things we can’t control, overthinking, and the countless distractions of modern life.

If you put the sand and pebbles into the jar first, there is no room left for the rocks.

The same is true in our lives. If we spend all our time and energy on the small things, we can easily lose sight of what matters most.

So as we begin the second half of the year, it’s a good opportunity to pause and ask ourselves:

Do you know what your rocks are? Are you making time for them first?

💕 Darla

Ps. If you haven’t been to Hawaii yet I highly recommend it. I lived there 5 years & I still can’t get over how beautiful it is.

There’s a quote by Gretchen Rubin that says, “The days are long, but the years are short.”

Lately, though, it feels like time is moving fast... full stop.

I think that’s one of the most underrated benefits of yoga. In a world that constantly encourages us to rush to the next thing, yoga invites us to slow down. To breathe. To notice. To be fully present, even if it’s only for an hour.

With consistent practice, that sense of presence doesn’t stay on the mat. It begins to carry over into everyday life. We become less caught up in what’s next and more aware of where we are right now. We spend less time running on autopilot and more time actually experiencing the moments that make up our lives.

If you’ve been feeling like life is moving a little too quickly, maybe this is your reminder to pause.

We’d love to welcome you to one of our yoga classes this weekend:

Saturday
• 7:00 am – Vinyasa with Maddy
• 9:30 am – Yin with Maddy

Sunday
• 4:00 pm – Yin with Jason
• 5:15 pm – Restorative Hatha & Yoga Nidra with Jason

Come and experience the benefits for yourself. 💕

Classes for Your Nervous System

Each class offers a different pathway to balance, recovery, and self-awareness.

✨Restorative Hatha & Yoga Nidra combines gentle movement with deep rest. Restorative postures help release physical tension, while Yoga Nidra guides the mind into a state of conscious relaxation, supporting recovery, stress reduction, and improved sleep.

☯️ Yin Yoga encourages you to slow down and release unnecessary effort. Through long-held postures, it improves mobility, supports joint health, and creates space in both body and mind.

🌙 Hatha Moon follows the traditional progression of asana, pranayama, and meditation. Through disciplined practice, it cultivates balance between effort and ease, supports the calming qualities of Ida Nadi, and promotes mental clarity, focus, and nervous system regulation.

These classes can be practised individually or combined. Beginning with Yin Yoga or Hatha Moon helps prepare the body, steady the breath, and settle the mind, creating the ideal foundation for the restorative benefits of Yoga Nidra. Together, they offer a progressive approach to balancing the nervous system and cultivating resilience, presence, and deep rest.

We live in a time where information is more accessible than ever before. At any moment, we can pick up our phone, ask a question, and have an answer within seconds.

So why do so many of us still feel confused and overwhelmed?

Often, the ability to endlessly research and create the “perfect plan” becomes a form of productive procrastination. We spend so much time thinking about what we should do that we never actually begin.

But here’s the thing: your plan doesn’t need to be perfect. You just need to start.

Take action, see how you feel, and adjust as you go.

Not sure where to start when it comes to your fitness? It depends on your goals.

- Want to improve stability, mobility, and body awareness? Try Pilates.

- Looking to build strength and support muscle mass and bone density? Our Strength classes are a great place to begin.

- Need to reduce stress, support your nervous system, and move more mindfully? We recommend Yoga.

Or maybe you’re not sure what you’ll enjoy most. That’s exactly why we created our Intro Offer, to give you the opportunity to try a little of everything and discover what feels right for you.

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time or the perfect plan, this is your reminder that neither exists.
Now is the best time to start whatever it is you keep saying you will do.

Have a wonderful week 💕

We hope you found some moments to rest this weekend.

As you look ahead to a new week and a new month, remember that rest, breathing, and slowing down deserve a place in your schedule just as much as the things you feel you have to do. Taking time to pause isn’t falling behind- it’s often what allows us to move forward with more energy and clarity.

We are excited to welcome you to our expanded yoga timetable starting tomorrow. Whether you need to breathe, move mindfully, or simply take a moment for yourself, we would love to see you in class.

Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is slow down and reconnect.

See you on the mat. 💕

We rarely post about our semi-private clinical classes because they are always at full capacity, but we have recently had a few rare spots have open up.

We currently have availability in:
~ Mondays 1:30 pm - Semi-Private Exercise Physiology with Lauren
~ Mondays 3:00 pm - Fortify (Bone Strength & Osteoporosis Class)
~ Fridays 10:30 am - Fortify

These small-group classes are led by our exercise physiologist and are tailored specifically to your body, goals, injuries, and current capacity. With only a small number of clients per class, we provide individualised guidance and support while helping you build strength, stability, confidence, and resilience in a safe and supportive environment.

An initial assessment is required before starting to learn about your goals, injuries, and imbalances so we can best support you going forward.

If you’ve been wanting more personalised support with your movement, strength, injury rehabilitation, or bone health, reach out- we would love to help you get started.
