🌻WOMEN'S DEPRESSION RISK increases during major hormonal transitions such as puberty, the postnatal period, perimenopause and menopause.

Depression exists on a spectrum and involves a cluster of emotional, behavioural and physiological symptoms.

Persistent low mood, sadness or irritability, low energy levels, sleep disturbances, changes in appetite, difficulty concentrating, body aches and pains, loss of interest, feeling hopeless, and social withdrawal can be experienced to various degrees.

Depression is not solely a mental health condition, underlying contributors may include hormonal fluctuations, neuroinflammation, microbiome imbalances, nutritional deficiencies and other biological, environmental and social factors.

WHO SHOULD YOU TRUST WITH YOUR HEALTH?🌿

🤔In an era where information is more accessible than ever, it is worth pausing to reflect on how easily misinformation can spread.

After several years of education, rigorous training, and clinical practice in Naturopathic and Functional Nutritional Medicine,
I have developed a deep respect for the responsibility that comes with offering health guidance.

From this perspective, I am deeply concerned about the growing volume of natural health advice shared online by individuals without formal training in natural medicine.

I understand that many people share advice with good intentions, hoping to help or to share what has worked for them.

However, most health concerns requires the clinical experience, and professional accountability to assess and to deliver safe and effective treatments.

More concerning is how readily such advice is accepted, while the expert guidance of qualified practitioners is often overlooked or dismissed.

A common trend is people posting symptoms or photos in online platforms and asking, “Does anyone know what this could be, or what I should take?"

What follows is often a stream of opinions, suggestions, diagnoses, and protocols offered with no training, expertise or case-relevance.

🚩Imagine calling a plumber to fix a serious electrical fault simply because the plumber once changed a light bulb!
As absurd as it seems, this analogy illustrates this behaviour.

🚩Confidence does not equal qualification and following unqualified guidance can have serious health consequences.

🚩Symptoms that seem mild may indicate more serious underlying conditions.

🚩Delayed or inaccurate interpretation can postpone appropriate assessment and care.

🚩Dietary restrictions, detox protocols, herbal combinations, and supplements are often recommended without consideration of safety, interactions, or individual needs.

🚩While natural therapies can be supportive, “natural” does not automatically mean risk-free. Incorrect dosing or inappropriate use may lead to interactions, adverse reactions, reduced effectiveness, or even toxicity.

🌿For those who value natural, holistic, or integrative healthcare, seeking guidance from degree-qualified naturopathic practitioners or accredited nutritionists ensures you get safe and effective care.

🌿Degree-qualified practitioners are members of reputable industry associations that uphold ongoing education, ethical standards and clinical competence.

🚩Be mindful of individuals who pretend to be qualified, and please know there are levels of education and expertise,
a diploma is a less specialised course than a full degree.

In summary,

🌿Health advice is a responsibility shaped by years of education, training, and clinical experience.
Just as no single approach works for everyone, what benefits one person may not be approriate or safe for another.

🌿Your health is your wealth and deserves the expert guidance of practitioners who understand the complexity and interconnectedness of the whole human body.

💚HEALTH IS MORE THAN THE ABSENCE OF DISEASE

HEALTH is a dynamic state of physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being that allows a person to adapt, function, and thrive across changing life circumstances.

HEALTH is mantained by the body's internal balance, this referred as "HOMEOSTASIS" or the body's innate ability to self‑regulate and maintain stable internal conditions such as blood glucose levels, blood pressure, temperature, hormones, immune function, and nervous system response despite external stressors.

When the body is in a state of COHERENCE, all systems communicate efficiently, working together rather than in isolation. This alignment supports vitality, resilience, emotional stability, and general wellbeing.
Even subtle loss of coherence gradually leads to imbalances and later the development of disease.

FOUNDATIONS FOR HEALTH:

DIET– the quality of nutrition that fuels cellular and metabolic function.
LIFESTYLE – daily habits such as sleep, movement, stressors, and routines that regulate bodily functions.
EMOTIONS – emotional awareness, processing, and regulation that strongly influence neurotransmitters and hormones.
ENVIRONMENT – chemicals and sensory surroundings that impact adaptability.
CONNECTIONS – relationships, community and social support, and a sense of belonging are essential for emotional and physiological regulation.

Each person’s biochemistry, experiences, stressors, and environment shape their unique health patterns. These nuances explain why the same approach does not work for everyone and why true health requires personalised understanding rather than a one-size-fits-all model.

Ultimately, health coherence emerged when the foundations for health are balanced and adapted to the individual, allowing the body to function as an integrated system💚

Exciting NEWS! 🤩
Coming up on the 15th June is my PERIMENOPAUSE & MENOPAUSE WORKSHOP

Welcome fellow sisters,

"As women, we are often conditioned to see menopause as the onset of aging and decline, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Menopause is a profound biological transformation and a sacred natural passage that holds the power to reconnect us to our inner wisdom.

This season of life is not an ending,
but a beginning, an invitation to slow down, listen closely to our bodies, and honor the changes unfolding within.

It is my heartfelt mission to walk beside you through this transition with compassion and care, offering tools, guidance, and unwavering support.

Together, we’ll embrace this journey so you can move through menopause with balance, confidence, and a renewed sense of empowerment"
