🩷 One Month Without Kumu 🩷
Our precious little angel,
We can’t believe it’s been one month since we had to say goodbye. In some ways, it feels like only yesterday, yet in others, it feels as though you’ve been gone for so much longer. Time has become such a strange thing without you.
To say you’ve left a huge, gaping hole in our hearts, our family, and our home is an understatement. The silence you left behind speaks louder than words ever could.
We aren’t sad that you’re finally free from pain. You fought so bravely, right until the very end, with the same quiet strength and determination that defined your beautiful little soul. We could never have asked for more from you.
It’s the little things we miss the most.
Being woken for breakfast because, according to you, the sun had been up for hours. Your dramatic huffs and puffs when your patience had completely run out. The gentle click of your little nails across the floor. Your fading bark. Your blissful smile that could brighten even the darkest day. And, of course, your “fur glitter” that somehow found its way onto every surface in the house.
Those ordinary moments have become the memories we treasure most.
We can now smile through the tears as we watch your photos and videos. Our love for you hasn’t faded; not even a little. If anything, it has grown stronger. You loved us so completely and so unconditionally, and we know the depth of our grief is simply a reflection of the extraordinary love we shared.
The tears still come, often when we least expect them, and we’ve learned not to fight them. We welcome every emotion because each one is another reminder that you mattered, that you were deeply loved, and that you always will be.
We always told you that you were the bestest little girl, and you truly were. You taught us a love that can’t be measured, only felt; a love that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.
We still feel you with us in the quiet moments. In the tiny white feathers that appear when we need them most… and even in the not-so-subtle smoke alarm that randomly went off. We couldn’t help but laugh, imagining you cheekily reminding us that you’re still keeping an eye on us… and probably giving your little sister a bit of mischief.
Thank you for every cuddle, every kiss, every tail wag, every smile, and every moment you gave us. Thank you for choosing us to be your daddies. Loving you was one of the greatest privileges of our lives.
You may no longer walk beside us, but you’ll never stop living within us.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our little angel.
