Common doesn’t mean normal when it comes to your cycle.

This clip explores why debilitating cramps, irregular cycles, and hormonal symptoms shouldn’t simply be accepted as part of being a woman, and why Kaya became determined to find better tools to support women’s hormonal health.

Women deserve to be listened to when they say something doesn’t feel right.

This clip explores why symptoms shouldn’t simply be dismissed as women become more informed about perimenopause, and how conventional and functional medicine could work together to investigate what’s actually happening.

At 37, I thought getting older meant becoming less of who I was.

At 57, I know better.

I care less about being liked.
I say no without writing an essay to explain myself.
I protect my time and energy.
I move my body because I want to stay strong, not because I’m trying to make it smaller.
I’ve stopped believing that ageing means becoming invisible, irrelevant or somehow past my best.

And perhaps the biggest one?

I wish I’d spent less time worrying about what other people thought and more time trusting myself.

There are things I’d absolutely tell my 37-year-old self to do differently. But I wouldn’t want to be 37 again.

There’s a freedom that comes with knowing yourself that I wouldn’t trade for younger skin.

What would you tell the younger version of you?

We use discernment with our physical health. Why should our spiritual health be any different?

This clip explores why choosing a spiritual teacher deserves the same care as choosing any other trusted professional, and why credibility, experience, and real-world impact still matter.

We service our cars regularly, so why don’t we do the same for our minds?

This clip explores why therapy doesn’t need to mean something is wrong, and why looking after your emotional, mental, and spiritual health deserves the same attention as your physical health.

Apparently, at a certain age, women are supposed to start following a new set of rules.

Cut your hair shorter.
Lower your hemline.
Tone down the makeup.
Don’t wear anything “too young”.
Don’t be too loud.
Don’t be too sexy.
And whatever you do, don’t try too hard to be noticed.

I have a question.

Who made these rules?

Because ageing doesn’t mean slowly editing yourself out of the picture.

If you love your hair long, wear it long.
If you have great legs and love a short skirt, wear the damn skirt.
Wear the bikini.
Wear the red lipstick.
Start the business.
Learn something completely new.
Dance until midnight.
Fall in love.
Travel on your own.
Take up space.

There is no age at which a woman is required to become smaller, quieter or less visible.

And there is certainly no expiry date on feeling attractive, adventurous, feminine, sensual, ambitious or completely yourself.

Maybe the most powerful thing about getting older is realising you no longer need permission.

So the next time someone tells you, “Women of a certain age shouldn’t
”

Finish the sentence for yourself.

Women my age should do whatever makes us feel most alive.

What’s one “age rule” you’re happily breaking?

Taking ownership of your life gives you the power to change it.

This clip explores why staying stuck in blame can leave us feeling powerless, and how taking responsibility for where we are allows us to focus on the one thing we can control, what we do next.

Since entering midlife so much has changed for me.

And drinking alcohol is one of them. It’s not that I never drink alcohol
I still have a drink every now and then. But my body just can’t handle it the way I used to. Perhaps I’m a light weight! 😂

But one thing I do know is that my body ‘speaks’ to me much more loudly these days about what it likes and doesn’t like. So I try to honour what it needs. I’m also mindful of the emerging research on how alcohol impacts my body in ways that makes me think twice about reaching for that glass of đŸ·

With so many of us going through these hormonal changes it’s important we support each other’s individual choices. Keen to hear if anyone else is experiencing this shift away from alcohol.

It reminds me of when I was pregnant with my first child. I was out at dinner, had ordered a cocktail and it tasted so bad I made them make it again. But it was still horrible. It wasn’t until 2-3 weeks later that I found out I was pregnant. That’s when I had my ‘aha’ moment. Opposite ends of my hormonal life yet my body still speaks to me! And no
I’m not pregnant! 😜
