🌷 Palliative care at home should feel supported and dignified. No family should feel abandoned.

πŸ•ŠοΈ When someone is in the palliative phase of their condition, the goal shifts from cure to comfort; from treatment to quality of life; and toward honouring the person's wishes. This is profound work, and it requires skilled, compassionate support.

πŸ’™ Many families worry they'll be left to manage alone. The reality is that palliative care at home works best with a team: clinical oversight, medication management, symptom monitoring, and emotional support for the whole family.

πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ At Flonac, we specialise in bringing clinical nursing expertise into the home during these tender and important moments. We help families understand what to expect, manage pain and symptoms, and create space for connection and dignity.

🀝 If you're walking this path with someone you love, you don't have to do it alone. Let's talk about what support looks like for your family.

🧠 Huntington's disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement, cognition, and behaviour. What many families don't realise is that behavioural changes aren't wilful or emotional; they're medical symptoms of the disease itself.

πŸŒͺ️ When someone with Huntington's experiences mood swings, irritability, or personality changes, these reflect the underlying neurological changes happening in their brain. Understanding this distinction transforms how families respond and support their loved one.

πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ At Flonac, we work with families managing progressive conditions like Huntington's, helping them understand the medical nature of these changes and adapt care to protect both the participant and the carer. This knowledge reduces guilt, shame, and burnout, and it allows families to respond with compassion rather than frustration.

🀝 If you're supporting someone with a progressive condition, skilled oversight makes all the difference. We're here to help you understand what's happening and build a care plan that works.

πŸ“ˆ When Conditions Progress: Staying Ahead of Change Progressive conditions don't stand still.
They evolve, and so does the care needed. The key is recognizing progression early and adjusting support before crisis hits.

πŸ”„ What changes might look like:β€’ Mobility decreasing graduallyβ€’ Cognitive changes becoming more noticeableβ€’ Increased medication needsβ€’ New symptoms emergingβ€’ Fatigue increasing despite adequate rest.

πŸ›‘οΈ Why proactive care matters:Waiting until something breaks means emergency care, hospital visits, and unnecessary stress. Early adjustments to care plans keep people comfortable, safe, and living their best life.

πŸ’ͺ At Flonac, we review regularly and adapt. We don't wait for crisisβ€”we prevent it.

Your loved one's condition is changing. Their care should too. Let's talk about what's next.

βš–οΈ If the days feel heavier than they should, that is information. Support levels can be reviewed.

🧠 One of the most misunderstood truths in complex care is this: reviewing support is not a sign of failure. It's a sign of wisdom.

πŸ‘€ When families come to us saying "The current setup isn't working," they often feel like they've done something wrong. They haven't. What they've done is pay attention. They've noticed that the current support structure isn't meeting the actual needs. That awareness is the first step toward stability.

πŸ₯ At Flonac, we specialise in this. We work with families to assess whether current support is truly adequate, whether the care is person‑centred, and whether the carer is sustainable. Sometimes a small adjustment changes everything. Sometimes a significant shift is needed.

πŸ’ͺ The strength is not in never needing to review. The strength is in being willing to review, to adjust, and to prioritise what actually works over what looks good on paper.

✨ Your instinct that something needs to change? Trust it. That's expertise speaking.

πŸ˜” Carer fatigue is real. Exhaustion does not mean failure. It means you have been carrying a lot.

πŸ“‹ The signs are often subtle at first. You're managing medications, appointments, emergencies. You're watching for changes, anticipating needs, making decisions that affect someone's life. You're doing this while working, managing a household, and questioning if you're doing enough.

πŸ’™ This is not weakness. This is the weight of responsibility combined with the emotional labour of care.

πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ At Flonac, we've worked with hundreds of families. We know that when carers are exhausted, the whole system becomes fragile. That's why we exist: to share the load, to bring skilled oversight, and to give carers permission to rest.

βœ… Your exhaustion is valid. Your need for support is not a failure.

πŸ“’ It's a signal that stronger care is needed.
