At Ray of Sunshine, our mission is to instill a foundation of self-belief for children that will help guide them through the ups and downs of life by empowering them with tools that build resilience, grow confidence and feed self-esteem.✨

Chakradance Kids with Bronwyn is a 9-week social and emotional wellbeing program teaching through creativity. We tap into story-telling, movement and art whilst building our mindfulness techniques and more! Program available to private groups, primary schools or register your interest for an after school offering on the Gold Coast.

Developing our young ones emotional regulation builds their resilience. 💪

Emotional regulation impacts our wellbeing, mental health, social interactions, cognition and decision making as well as physical health!

As parents and teachers, there are a few things we can do to assist children along:

😮‍💨 Reduce the cognitive load on the child when necessary as emotional regulation is impacted by our ability and mental resources available
🤓 teach emotional literacy - build knowledge of what emotions are, how they feel in their bodies and how they have an impact - this provides a language for their inside world
🌻 encourage belief that we can (as well as teach the skills to) manage emotions as this builds self-efficacy
🧎 model emotional regulation ourselves

Our kids yoga and wellbeing classes can have an impact on many of the phases of emotional regulation through building skills in:

💫Mindfulness
💫Interoception
💫Breathing techniques
💫Nervous system regulation
💫Physical and creative expression

There are many ways we can help support children through the monster waves of emotion.

At Chakradance™ Kids, we explore the sacral chakra, the energetic home of feelings, creativity, and flow. Through music, movement, and story, we help children move their emotions, rather than hold them in.

Because when those big feelings build up like a storm at sea...
They don’t need to be fixed.
They need to be felt.

Chakradance Kids™ Art provides an opportunity for the children to express their feelings and experiences about the class in a nonverbal way. 🌈🖍

When the children reflect back on their magic circle art, they are more easily able to tap back into the lessons they learned in each class, which helps them take experiences from the classroom out into their lives.
