While in Tokyo we visited Reiko Tomino at her school, The International Medical Spa Institute. Reiko showed us around her beautiful and serene teaching space, while showing us some Japanese oils, such as Japanese mint, Magnolia, Japanese cypress, Yuzu and many more. She also showed us a herbal heat poultice that she steams and uses. We had a cup of tea with the same herbs.

After this we took a short walk to The Tree of Life to explore osmanthus, blends for the public and herbs.

We have experienced a traditional evening on Miyajima, a local venue in Hiroshima and visited a shrine in Sawara (as well as many more).

We have loved seeing the Japanese red cedar, alongside many other trees and botanicals, discovering new aromas along the way
