This one feels a little different.
I've nominated Health Haven in the 2026 ALIBI Awards, specifically, for the Phoenix Award.
There was a time when I genuinely didn't know whether I'd ever be able to come back to my practice.
The complications from surgical mesh changed my life in ways I couldn't have anticipated. There were surgeries and investigations, ongoing health issues and long periods where simply getting through what was happening physically had to come before everything else.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that was Health Haven; the business I'd spent years building, and work that had always been such a huge part of who I was.
I didn't know what returning would look like. At times, I didn't know if returning was going to be possible at all.
But slowly, I did, and here I am.
And coming back hasn't meant simply picking up where I left off.
Health Haven has changed. Because I've changed.
I've rebuilt parts of the business, questioned things I'd done for years, let some things go, brought other parts into it, and started creating something that feels truly like me again, and like what the world needs right now.
So when I saw the Phoenix Award, something about it landed in my soul.
A phoenix doesn't return unchanged. It rises from what was, carrying something different into what comes next.
And that's what this chapter of my life has been.
I'm still dealing with some of the health consequences; the story isn't tied up neatly with a bow.
But I'm here, Health Haven is back. I'm seeing clients. I'm creating. I'm rebuilding. And I'm excited about the next chapter of my practice.
I didn't nominate for the award because I need it to tell me that coming back matters. But because, for once, I'm willing to acknowledge just how much it took to get here.
And I'm really proud of that 💚
Whatever happens next, I feel like I’ve drawn a line in the sand and planted my flag.
Health Haven is back. I’m back.
And I’m ready for the biggest and best chapter yet. ❤️🔥
