TODAY IS A VERY SACRED DAY ❤️

Today Krishna, Kālī and Kāla Bhairava meet through Janmashtami, Kali Jayanti and Kalashtami.

You can go very deep into the mythology of this, but I think the message for us is beautifully simple.

Krishna asks: What do you truly love?
Kālī asks: What are you finally ready to let go of?
Bhairava reminds you: You don’t have forever.

We spend so much of our lives waiting. Waiting to change something, say something, leave something, begin something, love someone, become someone.

And meanwhile… life is happening.

So perhaps today’s practice is simply this:

LOVE. RELEASE. NOW.

Light a candle. Sit quietly. Ask yourself what deserves more of your love, what you’ve carried for too long, and what you’re postponing as though you have unlimited time.

And remember, Krishna is born at midnight — in darkness and uncertainty.

The Divine doesn’t wait until you’ve got your s**t together to appear. 😂 Sometimes something beautiful is born right in the middle of the mess.

Jai Shri Krishna ❤️
Jai Mā Kālī 🖤
Jai Kāla Bhairava 🙏🏽

Some people say to me
“Why don’t you take some time out” ?
Do some fun stuff?

You see the reality is that every moment of my life is fun stuff!
That everything I do is full of love, joy and play.

That there is nothing else I want to do but what I do.

You see Yoga is not an activity that you go and do.

It’s a state of Being that is in everything in your life.

I’m filled with passion, drive, energy, love, abundance, prosperity of the heart.
This is my joy , my Life.

BACKBENDS — THE COURAGE TO REMAIN OPEN

We call backbends “heart openers,” but I think they go much deeper.

Think about what we’re actually doing.

We expose the heart, throat and belly — the soft places we instinctively protect — and move backwards into a space we cannot see.

That takes trust.

Life teaches us to brace. Grief, disappointment, betrayal and fear can slowly build armour around us.

A backbend asks:

Can I stay open without losing myself?
Can I soften and still be strong?
Can I trust what I cannot see?

The deepest backbend isn’t necessarily the most impressive one.

Sometimes it’s simply breathing into the resistance and allowing yourself to open a little more.

Perhaps that’s the real practice — learning to remain open in a world that has given us plenty of reasons to close.

SADHANA CHANGES WHAT YOU CAN TOLERATE.
I’ve been doing deep Sadhana now for around 10 years.
I don’t feel I chose this path.
The path came to me.
I’ve never really been a seeker.
I’ve been a receiver.
I’ve meditated since I was very young and prayed as a small child. As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to understand the power of Sadhana — mantra, meditation, devotion, discipline and simply showing up again and again.

Not to become more “spiritual.”

But to clear away the rubbish.

The unhealthy thought patterns.
The attachments.
The need for approval.
The habits that hurt us.
The places where we betray ourselves while pretending everything is fine.
And over time, something happens.
Sadhana changes what you can tolerate.
You become less able to bulls**t yourself. 😂
You recognise when compassion has become rescuing.
When you’re giving energy where it doesn’t belong.
When what you want to believe is different from what you already know.

I still make mistakes. I still get caught in things. I’m still very human.
But perhaps that’s the point.
Sadhana isn’t about becoming some perfect spiritual person.
It’s about becoming conscious enough that you can no longer comfortably live inside what isn’t true for you.
And maybe that’s how we know the practice is working.

A MATURE WOMAN IS NOT A FADING VERSION OF THE MAIDEN.

She is something else entirely.

Ta**ra does not worship only youth, beginnings or untouched beauty.

It recognises Śakti in every stage of becoming.

There comes a time when a woman begins to understand that her power was never in being desirable to the world.

It was in being fully inhabited by herself.

She has lived.
Loved.
Lost.
Desired.
Grieved.
Been betrayed.
Made mistakes.
Broken open.
Begun again.

And somewhere within all of that, she stopped needing to be chosen.

She chooses.
#
She stops sacrificing her truth to remain lovable.

She has moved through enough illusion to recognise Māyā when it arrives beautifully dressed.

She has met Kali in her endings.

Bhairavi in the fires that transformed her.

And Śakti within her own flesh.

Age has not taken her power.

Age has distilled it.

Her sexuality may become less performative and more sovereign.

Her spirituality less concerned with appearing spiritual.
Her love deeper.
Her discernment sharper.
Her NO becomes sacred.
Her YES becomes sacred.
Her solitude becomes sacred.
Her body becomes sacred.
And eventually she stops asking:
Am I still enough?

Because the question has become too small.

She is not here to remain eternally young.
She is here to become whole.
Not Maiden desperately holding back time.

Yoginī.

Woman as wisdom.
Woman as fire.
Woman as embodied Śakti.

There is a beauty that belongs to youth.

But there is a POWER that can only be earned by living. 🔥

I HAVE THIS MEMORY FROM WHEN I WAS VERY, VERY YOUNG…

I remember suddenly becoming aware that I was here.

Not remembering an event. I remember the awareness itself.

It felt almost as though I had landed here from somewhere else—inside this little body, looking out at the world thinking…

Where am I? 😂

I couldn’t have formed those words, of course. But I remember the sensation.

As I’ve grown older, and deeper into Yoga, that memory fascinates me even more.

Because somewhere along the way I became “Helen.”

I was given a name, a family, a nationality and eventually accumulated relationships, beliefs, wounds, achievements and an entire story I learned to call ME.

But all of those things came later.

Something was already here…aware.

Yoga asks one of the most profound questions we can ever contemplate:

Who am I beneath everything I have learned to call myself?

I don’t know where I was before birth or where I’ll go after death.

But I’m increasingly fascinated by the one who is here, witnessing this extraordinary experience called life.

Maybe awakening isn’t about finding the answer.

Maybe it begins when we finally ask the question.

Do you remember first becoming aware that you were here?

SRI YANTRA — A FULL DAY IMMERSION

This is not simply a workshop on the Sri Yantra.
It is an invitation to enter it.

For one full day we journey into one of Ta**ra’s most profound sacred geometries — not as something to merely understand intellectually, but as a living map of consciousness.

Through Ta***ic philosophy, meditation, mantra, embodied practice and contemplation, we will explore the movement of Śiva and Śakti through the Sri Yantra — from the outer world of form, identity and separation, through its nine interpenetrating triangles, toward the Bindu… the still point where all opposites dissolve.

The Sri Yantra becomes a mirror.

A map of the cosmos.
A map of the body.
A map of your own return to centre.

This will be a deeply experiential day of practice, teaching, reflection and immersion — moving beyond simply looking at the Yantra to discovering what happens when we begin to inhabit it.

One day. Nine triangles. Forty-three chambers. One Bindu.

And perhaps the remembering that what we have been searching for was never outside us.

SRI YANTRA — FULL DAY IMMERSION
A journey from multiplicity back into the One. 🔻

We have been sold a fairy tale about surrendering to love.

That surrender means throwing ourselves in blindly. Trusting completely. Ignoring the mind. Following the heart.
But sometimes what we call love is Avidyā.

An old wound recognising familiar territory. Loneliness. Projection. Fear of abandonment. The need to be chosen.
This is why love needs Viveka — discernment.
But even Viveka has a shadow.

After enough hurt, we can become so good at protecting ourselves that we begin searching for reasons NOT to love. We call it wisdom. Sometimes it is. And sometimes it is fear wearing the clothes of wisdom.
This is where Kali’s sword becomes important.
Her sword doesn’t only cut through another person’s bulls**t.

It cuts through ours.
Am I seeing this person clearly, or am I seeing everyone who ever hurt me standing behind them?

That is where relationship becomes Sādhanā.
Our jealousy, insecurity, possessiveness, suspicion and need for reassurance become teachers showing us our own Avidyā.
Bhakti asks us to go deeper still.

To transcend the WHO.
The person may awaken love in me, receive it, disappoint me or even break my heart — but they are not the source of my love.

Bhakti is love without ownership.
I can love you and still see you clearly.
I can have boundaries without closing my heart.
I can walk away without needing to hate you.
I can allow loving you to reveal where I am still not free.

Bhakti without Viveka can become blindness.
Viveka without love can become hardness.
We need both.

Kali’s sword and the open heart.
Perhaps surrendering to love was never about asking, “Will you love me?”

Perhaps the deeper question is:
“How deeply am I willing to become Love?”

That is Bhakti.
Love that has survived Kali’s sword of Truth.
