This year I swapped my makeup brushes for pens and books. 3-4 days dedicated to studying my Cert IV in Training & Assessment both in classroom in Brisbane and online. Also working a teaching assistant placement in the beauty department at the local college.
Tonight I got the best news! Nine months of hard work has paid off and I have PASSED. ✅ I’m now fully qualified to teach Beauty Therapy and Makeup in private and public colleges. I’m so excited to take the summer off with the kids 🙌🏼 and explore part time teaching opportunities in the new year.

Specs are stylish and whether you wear them as a fashion statement or a necessity did you know you may need to adjust your makeup when wearing glasses?

Do not worry, I have you covered... Firstly a good concealer and highlighter are essential as the glass can cast shadows making your under eyes seem darker. I like to go a shade lighter in my concealer than my foundation, to brighten! Using a blending sponge is essential, and then set with powder!

You then want to make your eyes pop by wearing eyeliner, it will give definition behind the lens, it doesn’t have to be black or pencil… it could be sweeping your brown brow powder/ pomade or pencil lightly on the lash line.

Defining your eyebrows is essential or your glasses may take over your face, create the balance using a shade to match your hair colour.

Finally a a sleek of Mascara, I love 4D as it is water resistant so will not smudge on your lenses, it is still easy to remove with general makeup remover though so no excess rubbing of the eyes. 🙌🏼

The only makeup I’m doing at the moment is Kaiyas for her dancing 🌍 This was hair 10 hours later and makeup 6 hours later!
I swear by setting your lippy with translucent setting powder if you are opting for a bold shade! It will withstand eating, drinking, talking and sweating 😅 on stage dancing up a storm!
Hair I recently shared the Got2b glued hairspray is the holy grail!

Our renovations are a long way from finished meaning my makeup studio is currently a building site… plus I still have over a third of my studies to complete 📚 so makeup clients are still on pause for now.

I love to glitz and glam the baby face when I can for a little fun though ❤️

HAIRSPRAY
Dance mums and those that need industrial strength hairspray… this one’s for you! I have tried so many and this one is by far the strongest! It sets fast so spray, sleek quickly whilst wet, then prepare for it to set like glue! My daughter is the real life rapunzel and I have stocked up for her dance competitions!

BB REVIEW 👇🏾

I have had my NEW BB Cream for a couple of weeks and wanted to share my honest feedback after using it. I can say it’s been my daily go to as it’s so easy ….
1. It has full SPF 🧴 protection ☀️ it’s sheer and not sticky.
2. It doesn’t need setting. This BB will not slide, will not go greasy even if you have oily skin like me. It doesn’t need to be set with powder or any setting product. It will last and is sweat proof & water resistant.
3. It’s a light full coverage. This feels “thicker” and “less dewy” than the original. It’s not a “glowy” finish however it isn’t Matte or ageing either. To me if feels and wears more like a foundation than a BB. I’m not sure if it’s the SPF that makes it “fuller” but you definitely can wear it as foundation and not need anything else.
4. The application and tube is completely different to any packaging we’ve used before. It’s an airless pump technology. See the video in comments so you are aware when yours arrives how to use it.
5. All new shades. I wear MEDIUM in it- it suits me perfectly but in the old one I was between honey and caramel. If you are honey and prefer dark- go with medium- if you wore honey and are significantly lighter than me - go light medium. Feel free to message me for shade advice.

Over all I like it. It is very different to the original which I loved but I am happy to add the glow with my cream stick blushers instead, and feel happy I have full sun protection daily.

That’s a wrap.
It’s been such a busy few months! 📚 Half way through my Training & Assessor’s course already and excited to say I have passed and am qualified in all units of Vocational Training. 👩‍🎓 I now have a three week break then return for two terms of ‘Assessor Training’. I’m so excited to continue my placement shadowing the teachers at college in the beauty department returning to the makeup classes, assisting teaching next term also.💄

Chapter 39 S•T•O•R•M

Welcome to our family Storm 🐈 it’s official, nothing else exists 😂😻 I’m besotted and you have spontaneously made this a birthday (39th) il never forget.

Storms 12 weeks old, a long haired silver tabby and a rescue kitty we couldn’t resist yesterday from the animal league shelter. A fluffy dream 😻

The kids volunteered in a behind the scenes experience day at the shelter in the Easter holidays. They learned how the rescue shelter and animal adoption works and took care of dogs, cats and Guinea pigs.
When they came home from school yesterday and we surprised them - I told them where he was from and Blake instantly said “We have saved two animals! Giving Storm a home and the space we freed up for another animal to be rescued!” ❤️

Lee said he’s never taking a day off again 😂 we went toilet shopping 🚽 (reno life) and came home without a toilet and with a kitten! 😆 Lee can hardly say no to me anyway but how could he possibly say no to that cute fluffy face?!
