Ten days ago I challenged myself to step out from behind the scenes. On day one, hitting “share” made me feel a bit sick.

The surprise? The simplest posts - just me being honest - were the ones that landed best. And somewhere along the way, the camera stopped feeling so scary.

How long should your pads last? It’s one of our most-asked questions - so I pulled over to answer it.

The honest answer: it depends. But a few simple things make a real difference - clean, dry skin, good storage, and a little Conductor Gel when they start to lose their stick.

Most people buy the pad that came with their device, wear it out, and buy the same one again. That is usually not the pad they need.

We make seven pads across six shapes, and they are not just sizes of one thing. The Butterfly sits around an awkward joint, not over it. The Back Pad covers a span no small pad will. Small EconoPads are 3cm x 5cm, made for the places a standard pad will not sit flat.

You do not even need to own a PainPod to use them - our pads fit a lot of TENS and EMS devices, and adaptors cover most of the rest. Message us your device and we will check what fits.

Hi, I’m Sandy - I look after the day-to-day running of PainPod, and being a small business, I get to wear a lot of hats: R&D, marketing, sales, the odd stint on pick and pack when Josh is away, and I still jump on customer service too.

There’s a fair chance we’ve already met - at an event, or on a call - since I’ve been answering the phone here since 2013.

I’m doing a little challenge at the moment to get myself in front of the camera (more than a little scary for a behind-the-scenes gal) so you, our community, can finally put a face to the name and see who we really are.
