One of the questions we get asked most by parents is this: how do you know what's by going on if a baby or a toddler can't tell you? It's a fair question, and it's the right one to ask.

The answer is that we carefully assess their function on each visit, and add it to the knowledge that we gleaned when we first met, and thoroughly assessed their nervous system. We ask about the birth, the feeding, the sleep. We take our time, because a little body can't talk us through it. Most of all, we listen to you , the parents, because you know when something isn’t right.

Most people find their way to us for musculoskeletal pain. It makes sense, that’s what chiropractic is best known for.

But a large part of what we do at Evolve is care for babies, toddlers, and children. Because the nervous system doesn’t wait until adulthood to need support.

Birth, early falls, growth spurts, big emotions, these all place load on a developing nervous system. And most of the time, parents don’t know something is showing up until sleep or behaviour becomes a pattern.

The Insight Scanner lets us see what’s happening in the nervous system before symptoms become loud. That’s why we use it with every new practice member, regardless of age. If you’ve been wondering whether a check might be right for your little one, we’d love to have that conversation.

The PX Doc certification is a paediatric chiropractic qualification from a US university, specialising in neurological care for infants and children, particularly those navigating complex health journeys.

Dr Edwina was drawn to this certification because the clinical work was already something she was deeply passionate about. What she wanted was a formal framework to support it, and the tools to understand it even more deeply. Part of that is using Insight Subluxation Scanners, which give an objective picture of how a child's nervous system is functioning. It takes the guesswork out and puts real data behind the care.

When parents picture chiropractic for a baby, they picture what they’ve experienced as an adult. It’s nothing like that.

The pressure I use on a baby’s spine is the same pressure you’d use to test if an avocado is ripe. That’s it. No sudden movement. No twisting. No sound at all.

Most of what happens in a baby session is sitting, watching, and listening first. The hands on part is small, gentle, and short.
