She smiles and says she’s fine.
She keeps the peace. Avoids the argument. Pushes through.
But inside, every unspoken thought and feeling is quietly building, until one day it all spills out.
If you bottle everything up because it’s easier than explaining, or because you don’t want to hurt anyone, this is for you.
Somewhere along the way you learned that when you speak up, it doesn’t end well. So you stopped. You kept it in. You just kept going.
But you are allowed to have your say. You are allowed to feel it. You are allowed to just be heard.
That old story, It no longer has to be your truth.

I remember standing at my kids’ bedroom door watching them sleep, feeling that heavy guilt wash over me. I’d snapped at them again. I hadn’t given them my attention in the way I wanted to, my mind was somewhere else entirely, caught up in things I used to believe were so important.
But in that quiet moment, all I wanted was to take it back.
The mum guilt after snapping is one of the heaviest feelings there is. You’re not a bad mum. You’re an exhausted one. There’s a difference.
When your nervous system is continuously stressed your patience is the first thing to go, not because you don’t love them, but because you’re human and you’ve been giving everything to everyone else.
The snapping isn’t who you are. It’s a signal. Your mind and body are asking for something.
If this is you, know that it can feel different. You don’t have to keep running on fumes.

If you don’t overthink it, it’s simple….

Know what’s important to you.

Don’t try to please everyone
or be perfect.

Just start by being more yourself.

Listen to your body.
Trust your intuition.
Let yourself have fun along the way.

You’re not here to be perfect,
you’re here to be you.

And you are already enough.

So live your life in a way that feels good to you, wake up and see the good already in your life

And if you want something go for it, everyone fails, don’t be afraid for it, take the lesson and keep moving forward.

You got this lovely! 💛

Why this works 💛

If you check your phone first thing in the morning,
you’re starting your day in reaction mode,
responding to everything around you
instead of choosing how you want to feel.

When you take a couple of minutes to pause and visualise your day,
you’re creating that feeling first
calm, present, grounded.

Your brain responds to what you repeatedly show it.
The more you practise this, the more natural it becomes.

Think of your mind like a piggy bank…
are you adding small moments of calm, or constant stress?

This is a simple but powerful form of self-care,
showing up for yourself in a way your future self will thank you for.

And the same applies with your children.

Morning, after school, and before bed
are the moments they need your presence most.

Even 10 minutes of your full attention, no distractions,
can make a big difference to them and you 💛.

If I could speak to myself 10 years ago…

I’d say:
worry less
stop overthinking
and enjoy it more 🤍

I used to put so much pressure on myself to have everything figured out…
always thinking, always “on”.

But life feels very different when you allow yourself to let go a little.

To laugh more.
To have fun.
To not take everything so seriously.

You’re allowed to enjoy your life while you’re building it.

Save this as your reminder.

This is a call from the part of you you’ve been ignoring…

The part of you that wants to say no
but feels pressure to say yes.

When this becomes a pattern, it slowly pulls you out of alignment.

You end up agreeing to things you don’t really want to do…
and over time, that can affect how you feel about yourself.

Because on a deeper level, you’re telling yourself:
everyone else’s needs matter more than mine.

If saying no feels hard, try this instead:

“Can I come back to you? I just need to check a few things.”

This gives you space to pause, breathe,
and actually check in with yourself.

Then you can respond later with something simple like:
“I’ve had a think and it’s not the right time for me”
or
“I’ve got a few other commitments at the moment”

You don’t need to over-explain.
You’re allowed to honour what feels right for you.

Save this for the moments you feel that pressure to say yes 💛
