A day designed to slow the pace and soften the edges. To move without rushing, eat without distraction, rest without guilt, and spend time in practices that support your body, mind and nervous system.

It’s easy to think yoga is something that happens for an hour and then ends when you roll your mat away.

But the older teachings speak about yoga as something much quieter than that.

It shows up in the moments where nobody is clapping. In choosing rest without guilt.
In trusting your own knowing.
In letting yourself move more slowly than the world expects.
In taking a breath before answering instead of speaking from the first emotion.

The Sanskrit words are beautiful, but they were never meant to stay in books.

They were meant to be lived.

Maybe the practice is not becoming more disciplined, more flexible or more enlightened.

Maybe it is learning to trust yourself a little more. To soften a little sooner. To notice that wisdom has been there all along.
