Who wants to live longer? All of us right? Good news, average life expectancy is now approaching 90 years old. Woohoo!!!! WINNING!!!! WRONG!!!
Do you know what our biggest risk is these days? Living too long!
In 1996, 20 years ago, there were 120,000 Australians over 65 still working. That's 1 in 18 seniors. Fast forward to today there are 465,000 Australians over 65 still working, that's 1 in 8 seniors!!!!
What do you think this will be in 10, 15, 20, 30 years????
We were told to study hard, work hard and you can put your feet up
in your senior years. This DOES NOT EXIST ANYMORE!
The Government is playing a numbers game with our super. The ideal retirement lifestyle is now a "flexible dream". The aged pension is currently $20,664 for a single and $31,153 for a couple. This is right on the Australian poverty line.
Some people don't understand why I do what I do. Why I am going against the grain. Why I post things like this. Why I am so passionate about my profession. Why I put myself out there in the firing line for haters. Why I have seemingly lost the plot and joined that "cult".
I do this because I do not want this to be my reality or my children's reality. Aside from my family and I though, I also want to help as many people as possible not HAVE to rely on our government to look after them, because guess what, THEY WON'T!
