THE ALCHEMY OF TRAVEL 🌀

There is an alchemy to travel, that sense that when you truly inhabit another place, it enters you through every sense and subtly rearranges you.

And for me, my practice is always part of the journey.

Teaching, sharing, reading, holding space and connecting with people along the way creates its own beautiful exchange.

By sharing my work in new places, something of their magick inevitably weaves itself into the practices I bring home.

This journey has been particularly rich, ancient stone and sacred land, old trees and older stories, Celtic magick, ritual, ancestral threads and remembrance.

I’m coming home deeply grateful, inspired and excited to share all that has been gathered and awakened through Awen.

WITCH’S DOORWAY 🌿✨

There’s something inherently magickal about a doorway.

A threshold between within and without.
A place of both welcome and protection.

And this little half door feels particularly perfect to me, open enough to welcome what is meant for me, while still holding a boundary around what is not.

As we move through this eclipse threshold, perhaps there’s some simple magick to be found in tending the thresholds of our homes too.

Sweep or wash your doorstep with intention.
Smoke cleanse around the doorway.
Place a protective crystal nearby, black tourmaline, smoky quartz or obsidian.

Then stand at your open door and offer a simple blessing:

I bless this door, I guard this space,
with hearth and heart and sacred grace.
May only love come through this door,
and what means harm return no more.
May abundance, good fortune and Awen begin,
and all that is meant for me, be welcomed in.

Nothing elaborate.

Just an old kind of magick,
tending the threshold.

And perhaps that is rather fitting beneath an eclipse too. 🌑🌿

THE SPACE BETWEEN

We are almost at the second eclipse.

These final days in the corridor between them feel less like a time for doing…

and more like a time for allowing.

The Solar Eclipse in Leo brought fire.

Heart. Courage. Truth. Self.

Now we move towards the Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon in Pisces.

Water. Feeling. Surrender. Dissolution.

Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac, the ending before the beginning. With the North Node having only just left Pisces, this feels like one final immersion in those waters.

A completion.

Not simply of old chapters, but of the emotional residue they may have left within us.

We can complete a cycle and still carry its grief.
Survive something and still hold its fear.
Learn the lesson and still wear the armour we needed while learning it.

Perhaps these Pisces waters are here to wash through what remains.

Not the wisdom.

The weight.

So feel what comes.

Cry. Rest. Walk. Run. Breathe. Sit beneath a tree.

Surrender isn’t bypassing emotion.

It is allowing it to move.

And don’t rush this part of the journey.

Because the journey itself has been preparing us.

The journey makes us ready to be the person we need to be when we arrive where we’re going.

Every threshold. Every ending. Every beginning.

It shaped us.

We don’t need to carry the pain forward to honour where we’ve been.

We can bow in deep gratitude.

Thank you.
I received the medicine.
I keep the wisdom.
I release the weight.

And then turn towards what is becoming.

Towards the courage of the heart.
Our gifts.
Our medicine.
The truth of who we are and what we came here to bring.

Perhaps we don’t need to ask what happens next?

Perhaps the questions for this threshold are simply…

Who am I now?
How do I want to feel?
How do I want to be?

Don’t rush across the threshold.

Let the waters take what is finished.

Keep the gold you alchemised from everything you have walked through.

And turn your face towards who you are becoming.

The fire revealed.
Now let the water release.

Some will physically witness the Sun entering darkness.

Others will sleep beneath it.

But astrologically, we all meet the same eclipse.

And within this Leo Solar Eclipse is a New Moon, a moment of newness born entirely in the dark.

Leo is heart. Courage. Passion. Creativity. The great solar fire of the self.

But what happens when the great solar heart enters darkness?

What can be known there that cannot be known in full light?

With Jupiter expanding Leo’s fire and Pluto pulling us towards deeper transformation, perhaps this New Moon isn’t simply asking what we want next.

Perhaps it is asking how we are ready to be next.

Because not everything hidden in darkness needs to be released.

Some things are waiting to be remembered.

The courage that exists without an audience.

The desire you’ve quietened because it felt too big.

The creativity you’ve contained.

The truth your heart has always known.

The Beauty within the Darkness.

So my ritual will be simple.

A flame for the Sun.
Water for the depths.
Stillness for the descent.

And one question ~

What part of my own fire am I ready to retrieve from the dark?

Because ritual without intention is simply movement.

The magick isn’t in the candle.

It’s in knowing why you lit it.

Perhaps this New Moon isn’t asking us to become someone new.

Perhaps it is asking us to remember what was ours all along.

Not a new light.

An ancient one. Remembered. 🔥🌑

THE DARK HEART OF THE SUN

Some will physically witness the Sun entering darkness.

Others will sleep beneath it.

But astrologically, we all meet the same eclipse.

And within this Leo Solar Eclipse is also a New Moon in Leo.

Usually we meet a New Moon by asking ~

What do I want to call in?
What intention am I setting?

But this one feels different.

Because before the new, there is darkness.

Leo is the heart.
Courage. Passion. Creativity.
The great solar fire of the self.

But what happens when the great solar heart enters darkness?

What can be known there that cannot be known in full light?

Jupiter is also moving through Leo, expanding this territory of heart, self and possibility, while opposing Pluto in Aquarius.

And Pluto doesn’t skim the surface.

Pluto takes us into the underworld.

Into transformation at soul level. Into the places where an old version of ourselves may no longer be able to follow.

Sometimes Pluto feels as though he has picked up the snow globe of your life and given it a bloody good shake.

Not simply to create chaos.

But because sometimes everything needs to move before it can settle differently.

So perhaps the New Moon intention here isn’t simply about what we want to have next.

Perhaps it is about how we are ready to be next.

What new wisdom can only be retrieved from the dark?

What courage exists without an audience?

What desire have you quietened because it felt too big?

What creativity have you kept contained?

What truth has your heart known for a very long time?

This is the Beauty of darkness.

Because not everything hidden in darkness is something we need to release.

Some things are waiting to be retrieved or simply remembered.

My ritual for this eclipse will be simple.

Water for the depths.
Stillness for the descent.

And one question ~

Because ritual without intention is simply movement.

And when the Sun emerges from shadow and the New Moon begins another cycle, perhaps we don’t need to ask who we want to become.

Perhaps we ask ~

What have I remembered about who I already am?

Not a new light.

An ancient one.
