It's All Good, Natural Therapies by Brooke Brooke Allwood
Naturopath; Nutritionist; Iridologist
Sunshine Coast + Hervey Bay I'm the owner of It's All Good. I now work at BBHHC 2 days a fortnight.

Hi, I'm Brooke
I'm a food loving, herbal medicine (and dog) obsessed Naturopath, Nutritionist and Iridologist. I worked as a Pharmacy Assistant for 8 years before completing my Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy and my Advanced Diploma of Nutritional Medicine in July 2016. My time as a Pharmacy Assistant exposed me to knowledge about pharmaceutical medications, their benefits and their side effects,

and the important role qualified Naturopaths have in preventing and reducing the need for such medications. While studying my Advanced Diplomas I was required to complete over 680 hours of supervised clinical prac. The first few hundred hours were completed on campus in Brisbane, the remaining were completed at Bargara Beach Holistic Health Centre, where, after a few additional months volunteering I began consulting. I am passionate about health and wellness on all levels; physical, mental and emotional, and I always strive to get to the root cause of conditions and treat each person as an individual. I work extensively with medical blood pathology, functional pathology, intolerance/allergy testing, compatibility testing and Iridology in my search for the underlying conditions causing current symptoms. I utilise dietary and lifestyle modifications as well as herbal and nutritional supplements, Australian Bush Flower Essences, homeopathy and energy healing as required to manage symptoms and address the underlying cause. I love working with all conditions but specialise in:
digestive issues (IBS, bloating, diarrhoea, food sensitivities)
skin conditions (acne, eczema, dermatitis)
lowered immunit
mood disorders (anxiety, depression, low confidence, stress)
fatigue and sleep condition
nutrient deficiencies

Let’s keep this simple and look at two key nutrients involved in immune system regulation.

Vitamin D and Zinc and the difference between normal and optimal results.

I would consider both the pictured results to be below desired levels - especially coming into winter!

Meaning both require attention/boosting.

Supplements and/or dietary modifications are determined by individual client health picture.

🌞 suboptimal vitamin d is VERY COMMON! Just because you go out in the sun regularly does not mean your levels are adequate.

Gut health, iron levels and various other nutrients also affect immunity…

Let’s continue with the optimal vs normal blood test results for a while longer.
This time focusing on some of the nutrients (that are commonly tested in bloods) that affect immunity.

Has winter arrived where you are?

❗️ So, your blood test results are NORMAL but you still feel TIRED, you’re still IRRITABLE, you’re always SICK…you just don’t feel like yourself.

What’s up with that?

Did you know that the standard reference ranges used in medicine are based on the AVERAGE population?

They do not indicate optimal health.
They identify average health…

They do not effectively identify suboptimal levels of various nutrients or indicate dysfunction in organs such as the thyroid until it’s become a real problem.

Over the next few days I’ll delve into some examples of the often massive difference between optimal blood results and normal blood results.

Are there any particular bloods you’d like me to delve into? I’ll be covering IRON, B12, D as a start…

SYMPTOMS OF SUB-OPTIMAL IRON include
🩸 fatigue
🩸 dizziness
🩸 shortness of breath
🩸 muscle weakness
🩸 heavy periods
🩸 anxiety

Reminder: standard reference ranges used in medicine are based on the AVERAGE population they do not identify optimal health. Utilising these ranges along also doesn’t take into account symptom picture.

Swipe across to see what normal ferritin can look like vs optimal ferritin is. As you can see the normal ferritin in within the standard ranges. It’s a very long way off what I consider optimal for this particular client.

Head to my website and purchase an email interpretation to find out if your results are normal or optimal.
