NEW PHARMACY HAS OPENED IN GORDON STREET, GORDONVALE
A new community-focused pharmacy has opened its doors in Gordonvale, bringing a back-to-basics approach to local healthcare.
Located on Gordon Street, opposite to Norman Park, Gordonvale Community Pharmacy brings pharmaceutical services back to central Gordonvale.
The pharmacy is now open, offering residents a new local option for trusted healthcare services, including prescription dispensing, professional counselling and compounding tailored medications for customers.
Building strong relationships between customers and the pharmacy team will be a central priority, with the aim of providing personalised, accessible care to the local community.
The pharmacy team includes pharmacy assistants Ryker, Laura and Kiki, who each bring a strong connection to the surrounding community. Kiki is a second-year nursing student, while Ryker and Laura will be future pharmacy students at James Cook University. Noha, the professional care pharmacist brings 12 years of experience to the role.
In a deliberate move away from retail trends, the pharmacy will not stock gifts or cosmetics. Instead, every product on the shelves will be selected with health outcomes in mind. The owners describe the business as a “traditional-style pharmacy”, centred on practical health solutions rather than retail extras.
The pharmacy is committed to serving Gordonvale for the long term. Supporting the local economy has also been a priority during the setup, with shopfitting works carried out by local tradespeople.
With its strong focus on community care, personalised service and added delivery convenience, Gordonvale Community Pharmacy is set to become a valuable addition to the town.
