💛 R U OK? Any day. Every day.

Our Goulburn Physio team is getting behind R U OK? Day with an important reminder - you don’t need a special day or a reason to check in with someone.

A quick “Are you OK?” can be the start of a really important conversation. Whether it’s a teammate, workmate, friend, family member or someone you haven’t spoken to in a while - make the time to ask, listen and genuinely check in.

Because sometimes, the most important conversations happen on an ordinary day.

💛 R U OK? Any day. Every day.

Today is R U OK? Day - a reminder that a simple question can open the door to an important conversation.

But looking out for the people around us shouldn’t be limited to one day of the year.

Sometimes the people who seem the happiest, busiest or strongest might be the ones who need someone to check in.

👋 Ask the question.
👂 Take the time to listen.
💬 Keep the conversation going.
❤️ Check in again - not just today, but any day.

At Goulburn Physio Centre, we’re proud to be part of a community that looks out for one another.

So, who could you check in on today?

Women’s Health Week | 7–11 September

This year’s theme is “Do It Anyway” - a reminder that looking after your health doesn’t have to mean making huge changes. It’s about taking small, realistic steps that work for you, and doing them anyway.

Throughout the week, we’re focusing on five simple ways to prioritise your health:

🍎 DAY 1 - TO FUEL
Nourish your body without the pressure of perfection. Small, achievable changes to what and how you eat can make a difference.

🏃‍♀️ DAY 2 - TO MOVE
Movement doesn’t have to be intense, structured or time-consuming. Find ways to move that work for you and make them part of your everyday life.

😴 DAY 3 - TO REST
Rest is an important part of looking after your health. Prioritise sleep, take a break and give yourself permission to rest without guilt.

🌿 DAY 4 - TO BREATHE
Your mental health matters. Take a moment to pause, check in with yourself and recognise when you might need some extra support.

🤝 DAY 5 - TO CONNECT
Connection matters for our health and wellbeing. Reach out to a friend, spend time with your community or start a conversation.

This Women’s Health Week, what’s one thing you can do anyway?

World PT Day 2026 | Small habits, lifelong movement

This World PT Day, we’re highlighting how simple, consistent choices can make a big difference to our health and quality of life.

🚶‍♀️ Small habits matter - move more, sit less, eat a balanced diet, don’t smoke, limit alcohol and keep up with regular health checks.

👟 Move more at every age - physical activity supports health, independence and quality of life throughout our lives. A physiotherapist can help you exercise safely and work towards the right activity levels for you.

💪 Stay active - aim for 150–300 minutes of aerobic activity each week, plus muscle-strengthening activities at least 2 days per week. For children, the recommendation is 60 minutes of physical activity each day.

You don’t have to make huge changes all at once. Start early. Stay active. Keep moving for life.

If you’re unsure how to get started, or how to exercise safely with an injury or health condition, our team at Goulburn Physiotherapy Centre can help.

WORLD PT DAY 2026 | MOVE FOR YOUR HEART

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, claiming more than 20.5 million lives every year.

But there are things we can do to reduce our risk - and physical activity is one of them.

Physiotherapists can help you:
🏃‍♀️ Get started with regular physical activity
💪 Build strength, fitness and physical capacity
❤️ Develop a safe, personalised exercise program
🔎 Identify cardiovascular risk factors and warning signs
📈 Manage cardiovascular disease and work towards reducing the risk of future cardiac events

And it doesn’t have to be complicated. Small, sustainable changes that help you move more throughout the day can make a difference.

Whether you’re already managing cardiovascular disease or simply want to look after your heart for the future, a physiotherapist can help you find the right way to get moving.

This World PT Day, we’re celebrating the role of physiotherapy in helping people move more, stay active and keep their hearts healthy.

WORLD PT DAY 2026 | STROKE PREVENTION

Did you know that 1 in 4 people will have a stroke in their lifetime?

The good news is that almost all strokes can be prevented - and physical activity plays an important role in reducing your risk. Just 30 minutes of exercise, five times a week, can reduce your risk of stroke by around 25%.

Physiotherapists can help you get moving safely and regularly, particularly if you have other long-term health conditions or are unsure where to start.

And our role doesn’t stop at prevention. Following a stroke, physiotherapy is an important part of rehabilitation, helping people improve movement, strength, balance, mobility and independence, while supporting a better quality of life throughout recovery.

This World PT Day, we’re highlighting the power of movement - to reduce risk, support recovery and help you live well.

This week we welcomed Ava to Goulburn Physio Centre for her work placement!

As part of her School-Based Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance, Ava spent the week getting a behind-the-scenes look at life in a busy physiotherapy clinic. She was super helpful throughout the week, eager to get involved, and asked some great questions as she learnt more about physiotherapy and allied health.

It was a pleasure having you with us, Ava! We hope you enjoyed your time at Goulburn Physio and that it has given you some inspiration for your future career. 👏
