How long have you lived in the Clarence Valley and what makes it such a special place to call home?
I have lived in the Clarence Valley my whole life, and it is special to me because it’s my home. It’s a place filled with community spirit, kindness, and pride.

What inspired you to nominate as a 2026 Junior Jacaranda candidate?
I was inspired by seeing how much past candidates have grown and developed throughout their journey. It encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone and challenge myself.

What are some of the events you’re looking forward to participating in as a 2026
Junior Jacaranda candidate?
I’m really looking forward to seeing how much I can grow, building new friendships, and experiencing all the amazing events the festival has to offer.

As a 2026 Junior Jacaranda candidate, what are some personal goals you would like to achieve?
I would like to build more confidence in myself and truly believe that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.

What are some of your best memories from attending previous Grafton Jacaranda Festivals?
Some of my favourite memories are seeing the smiles on people’s faces, the pride they feel, and the kindness everyone shows to one another. It’s such a positive and uplifting environment.

What is your favourite event to attend during the Grafton Jacaranda Festival and Why?
My favourite event is the ANZAC Day parade. I admire seeing the community come together to show respect for the soldiers who served and sacrificed for us. Watching people lay wreaths and honour their memory is very meaningful.

Should you receive the honour of being crowned during the 2026 Grafton Jacaranda Festival, which title will you choose, Junior King, Junior Queen, or Junior Ambassador?
I would choose Junior Queen. It would be such an honour, and I would carry the title with compassion and pride.

What would it mean to you to be crowned during the 2026 Grafton Jacaranda Festival, and how would you celebrate?
It would mean the world to me to be crowned Jacaranda Junior Queen. I would feel incredibly honoured and grateful for the opportunity to represent my community.

What words of encouragement would you share with other Clarence Valley youths who may be considering nominating as a Junior Jacaranda candidate one day?
Go for it, you only live once! It’s an unforgettable experience that will stay with you for a lifetime. It’s never too late to step forward and give it a try.

A huge heartfelt thank you to Mark Blackadder and Mrs Jill Blackadder for your incredibly kind donation of a walker to Pivotal 💜

Acts of generosity like this mean more than people often realise. This walker will help us better support participants who come into town and may struggle with mobility or getting around safely and comfortably.

Something that may seem small to some can make such a meaningful difference to someone’s independence, confidence, and overall experience when accessing the community.

What makes this even more special is that it’s just another reflection of Mark’s ongoing commitment to his community and the people within it. The kindness, care, and willingness to give back does not go unnoticed.

We’re so grateful for the thought behind this donation, and we know both our participants and team will truly benefit from it.

✨ February Wrap-Up with Pivotal Support & Coordination ✨

What an incredible start to 2026 we’ve had!
February saw us head off to our very first camp of the year at Secret Lake and what a beautiful few days it was. Surrounded by nature, laughter and connection, we created so many special memories together. Camps like this are such a powerful reminder of the importance of community, inclusion and shared experiences.

We also celebrated Valentine’s Day in the Pivotal office spreading kindness, connection and plenty of smiles. ❤️ It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying meaningful moments together. Thank you to Connor the balloon twister for the lovley balloons ✨️

To top it all off, we had a fun-filled pool weekends at the Grafton Pool and the brand new slides were an absolute hit! The new additions are such a fantastic extra for our local facility, giving everyone even more opportunities for recreation, confidence building and, of course, lots of excitement!
Thank you to our amazing participants, families and support team who make these moments so special. We can’t wait to see what the rest of 2026 brings!

✨ Pivotal’s First Ever Camp Out! ✨

What an unforgettable weekend we had with many of our amazing participants at our very first Pivotal Camp Out! 🏕️💙

From the moment tents went up to the last campfire stories, the whole experience was filled with fun, connection, and teamwork. Our participants got stuck into:

🌿 Setting up camp
🔥 Gathering firewood & cooking together
🚣 Kayaking adventures
🐢 Feeding turtles
🎣 Fishing by the water
🌊 Exploring rock pools & nature walks
🐶 Puppy cuddles
🤝 Socialising & working as a team

The smiles, laughter, and memories made remind us just how powerful community experiences can be. Everyone supported each other, tried new things, and most importantly had a blast!

🙏 A massive thank you to Secret Lake and the incredible owners truly amazing people who made this weekend so special. We’ll definitely be back! 🌟

A huge shoutout to everyone who came along to the Viking Disco at the GDSC on Thursday night! 🪩🛡️ We absolutely love creating these disco events where people of all abilities can come together for a safe, inclusive, and totally FUN night out with awesome tunes, fantastic food, Fun prizes, and great vibes all around!
