Embodied Movement
In studio

Heya, my name’s Elsie (she/her) and I’m a yoga teacher based on Wurundjeri Land. My offerings focus on mindful movement as a way to ground and connect us to our bodies and each other, through practices of somatics, movement, meditation, and breath work which lead to a felt sense of safety, release and embodiment. These practices seek to unite through shared experience, creating a container of expl

oration and expression for each individual, leading you closer to your body and your own, beautifully unique experience.

〰️

Yoga became a part of my life as a form of stress relief but in the past few years has grown to embody an exploration of the body, and what it means to return home to the many layers of the self. I studied under Hannah Campos, Nina Alfers and Ana Uribe for my 200hr YTT in 2021, but have continued to further my movement and somatic education through my involvement with collective being, a not for profit organisation seeking to provide wellbeing for all through trauma informed, mindfulness and somatic based practices and programs. I am passionate about providing access to yoga for folks and communities who may not feel comfortable entering a traditional studio. This includes those experiencing financial barriers, folks of various gender identities and expressions, those with mental health concerns or with different physical abilities; or maybe someone who is just curious about this yoga thing.

All edges of the mat, all edges of your body.

what would happen if the way you moved your body felt fun and playful? Like exploring a familiar place with fresh eyes. It might even push your boundaries and make you feel strong and capable.

And when I say movement I don't mean movement like this. We all have different capacities of movement, and it's a beautiful thing to explore what yours might be.

What makes you feel strong and capable. What makes you feel curious? It can be making sparkle fingers when you meet someone, or it might be a massage of your jaw before you sleep. It could be a gentle rock of your body from side to side as you do the dishes.

What every it is, can you move a little today. Maybe even right now.

I’m very excited to be guiding a Yoga Nidra series this year, a practice I’ve led many times in 1:1 spaces and one that I find immeasurable value in.

Slow into Nidra
Thurdays 7pm
Febraury 12th to April 2nd
Gertrude Street Yoga Studio

This eight-week series weaves gentle movement with a guided Yoga Nidra. You’ll first move through a slow, mindful and repetitive flow, creating space for somatic energy to be released, before descending into deep, supported rest. Ultimately shifting toward integration, restoration and a felt sense of peace when at ease.

What to Expect
• Slow, accessible flow focused on sensation rather than shape
• Somatic micro movements to support nervous system regulation
• Guided Yoga Nidra for deep rest and integration
• Spacious pacing, choice, and supported stillness
