What’s cooking at Shed 4 All Abilities? 👀🥧

A delicious quiche was on the menu at our latest Lunch Club!

But Lunch Club is about much more than making lunch. It’s an opportunity for participants to get involved, build practical skills, grow confidence, connect with others and, of course, sit down and enjoy what they’ve made together. 💛

With support along the way, everyone can get involved in the way that works for them. Whether that’s preparing ingredients, cooking, helping out, having a chat or simply being part of the group.

Lunch Club runs fortnightly at Shed 4 All in Moolap, and your first two sessions are FREE if you’d like to come along and give it a try.

And judging by that quiche… Lunch Club might be worth joining for the food alone! 😂🥧

It’s Women’s Health Week! 💜

This year’s theme is “Do it anyway”, a reminder that looking after our health doesn’t have to mean making huge changes or doing everything perfectly.

Sometimes it’s the small things that matter.

Making that appointment you’ve been putting off. Choosing something nourishing. Getting some fresh air. Moving your body in a way that works for you. Taking time to rest. Speaking up when something doesn’t feel right.

And importantly, health looks different for every woman. Living with disability, chronic illness or different support needs can change what looking after yourself looks like and that’s okay.

At Geelong Disability Services, we believe support should help people work towards their own goals, choices and wellbeing, in ways that are right for them.

So this Women’s Health Week, you don’t have to do everything. Choose one small thing for yourself and do it anyway. 💛💜

Happy Father’s Day from everyone at Geelong Disability Services! 💛

Today we’re celebrating the dads, stepdads, grandfathers, foster dads, carers, father figures and all the wonderful men who support, encourage and show up for the people they love.

Father’s Day can look different for every family, and we’re thinking of everyone in our GDS community today. Whether you’re celebrating together, remembering someone special, or simply spending the day your own way.

What does Community Access actually mean?

It can be as simple as grabbing a coffee, going shopping or catching a movie. It could mean joining a group, learning to use public transport, heading to the footy or trying something completely new.

There's no one activity that suits everybody and that's exactly the point.

At Geelong Disability Services, Community Access is about your interests, your goals and your choices. Our Support Workers are there to help you build confidence, connect with others and get out into the community in a way that feels right for you. 💛

Lunch Club is about so much more than what's on the menu. 🍽️💛

Every fortnight at Shed 4 All, participants come together to prepare lunch, learn practical skills, have a chat, meet new people and, most importantly, enjoy being part of the group.

It's a relaxed and welcoming way to build confidence and independence while making new connections in our community.

And if you've been thinking about giving Lunch Club a try, your first TWO sessions are completely FREE! 🎉

You can bring your own Support Worker along for those first two sessions while you get to know everyone and become comfortable with the group. If you love it and want to keep coming, you can then chat with the team about continuing with support from GDS.
