✨ Big Smiles, Bigger Possibilities ✨

✨ Our Young Adult Enrichment Program is about so much more than activities. It is about connection, confidence, and creating a place where young adults are supported to be themselves.

✨From building lifelong friendships and sharing unforgettable moments, to taking part in meaningful and purposeful activities, every day is filled with opportunities to grow, achieve personal goals, and celebrate individuality.

✨ Seeing these big smiles reminds us of what matters most. Belonging, independence, and enjoying life surrounded by supportive carers and friends who encourage each person to shine in their own way.

Navigating the transition to adulthood can feel overwhelming for families living with complex care needs - but you don’t have to do it alone.

As a parent-led organisation, Genovation understands the unique challenges families face as our children grow older, particularly during the transition from school into adulthood.

Turning 16 and then 18 brings significant changes — not only for our loved ones, but for the entire family. From financial considerations to legal responsibilities and future planning, there is a lot to learn and navigate.

To help ease some of the confusion and stress, we are excited to host our very first Parent Information Session! This session is designed to provide practical, valuable information to support families through these important life stages.

We are proud to welcome guest speakers and representatives from:
✔️ NDIS
✔️ Trustee & Guardian
✔️ Centrelink
✔️ Caldwell Martin Cox Solicitors

Together, we will explore topics specifically relevant to families living with complex care needs.

We are also grateful for the support of the Department of Education, who are working alongside us to bring this informative session to life.

📍 Please RSVP by via SMS (0417 588 098) or email ([email protected]) by Wednesday 10th June.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums, grandmothers, carers and mother figures in our Genovation community. 🌸

We especially recognise the strength, love, dedication and advocacy of mums raising children and young adults with additional needs. The care you give each day, often quietly and tirelessly behind the scenes is admirable and reflects a special love beyond words.

Thank you also for sharing your journeys with us and for trusting us to support and care for your loved ones. It is a privilege to walk alongside you and your families.

We hope today brings you a moment to feel appreciated and celebrated, because you truly are amazing.

With love from all of us at Genovation 🧡🩵💜

🌾🐓Belgenny Farm 🐓🌾

Our Young Adult Enrichment Program group spent the day exploring Belgenny
farm, meeting the animals (including some very curious chickens🐔), and soaking up the fresh air. There were plenty of smiles as we wandered through the grounds, checked out all the elements of the farm, and enjoyed a relaxed walk together.

It was a great hands-on experience and a chance to connect with nature, try something different, and just enjoy the simple things.

We also loved how accessible the space was, allowing everyone to comfortably take part and enjoy the day at their own pace.

Looking forward to many more adventures like this!

I generally like to keep our page free from politics and opinions, instead focusing on the great work we do. But this week has been exhausting and beyond disappointing with the media exaggerations and constant attacks on NDIS providers and participants. Enough is enough, it needs to stop.

The NDIS is not a “rort.”
But the way it’s being spoken about right now is hurting the very people it was designed to support.

Over the past week, I have listened to and read commentary from Ben Fordham , Big Chocky and the Luke Kinsella regarding the NDIS, including references to it being a “rort.”

While I agree that there are serious issues within the system that must be addressed — including misuse of funding and inadequate government oversight — I am increasingly concerned by the broad generalisations being presented to the public.

These narratives are having a real and immediate impact.
They are contributing to fear, distress and uncertainty for families who rely on the NDIS for essential, daily support. They are also undermining the work of ethical, hardworking providers and carers who are operating with integrity in an already highly pressured environment.

The reality is far more complex than what is currently being portrayed.

Yes — there are individuals and organisations who exploit the system. They should be identified and held accountable.
But they do not represent the majority.

Most providers are navigating rising operational costs, increasing compliance requirements, workforce challenges, and shrinking margins — all while striving to deliver meaningful, person-centred supports to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

For families like mine, the NDIS is not a “rort.”
It is the difference between isolation and inclusion.
Between survival and quality of life.

Public commentary that fails to distinguish between systemic issues and widespread misconduct risks damaging the very system that thousands of Australians depend on.

Rather than continuing this conversation at a distance, I would like to extend a genuine invitation - Ben Fordham 2GB, Karl Stefanovic Big Chocky, Luke Kinsella Australian Financial Review, and anyone else who would like to chat.

I welcome you to visit my home and our organisation located in Gregory Hills South West Sydney.
Meet my daughter. Meet the young adults, children and all participants we support. Meet the staff who show up every day with dedication, compassion and professionalism.

See firsthand:
What great support looks like
The realities providers are managing behind the scenes
The impact of funding limitations on real people

I would also welcome the opportunity to participate in an interview or discussion to provide a balanced and informed perspective on the current state of the NDIS.

There is absolutely a conversation to be had about reform, accountability and sustainability — and I would strongly support that conversation.

But it must be grounded in accuracy, fairness, and a genuine understanding of the sector.

I look forward to the opportunity to engage constructively.

If you work in, rely on, or care about the NDIS — I’d really value your voice in this conversation, please comment below.

Sincerely,

Giuliana Ferretti

🎉 Happy 70th Birthday Peter! 🎉

Today we celebrate a truly special milestone for an even more special person - Mr Peter’s (young) 70th birthday! 🥳

Peter, your humour, kindness, and easy going nature make you such a joy to be around. You light up every room, often with a joke or two, and bring warmth to everyone you meet. It’s no surprise you’ve built such a fantastic team around you!

To top it all off, Peter received a personalised birthday shoutout on 2UE - Classic Hits 2UE - radio today, organised by one of his carers... what an awesome moment! ✨

We feel incredibly lucky to be part of your journey, Peter. Here’s to many more laughs, great memories, and celebrations ahead. 🧡🩵💜

🥳Please join us in wishing Peter a very big happy, special birthday! 🥳

🌟MAKING EACH MOMENT COUNT🌟

At the heart of what we do is creating opportunities for our participants to live full, meaningful lives.

From smashing goals at the gym, learning important life skills like filling up the car with petrol & preparing delicious meals, and exploring exhibitions in the city, every moment is a step towards greater independence and confidence.

But the most special part? The smiles, the laughter, and the lifelong friendships formed along the way.

We are so proud to watch our participants grow, achieve their goals, and create memories that truly matter.

Every achievement, big or small, is worth celebrating.

YAEP – Where Purpose Meets Possibility!

🧡 The Young Adult Enrichment Program is a place where participants don’t just do activities... Through meaningful & purposeful experiences and life skills, the YAEP turns everyday moments into lasting growth and possibility.

🩵 From building confidence on the ice, to strengthening our bodies in hydrotherapy and at the gym, to learning independence through cooking and developing everyday life skills, every moment has had meaning. Music sessions brought creativity and joy, while teamwork and encouragement helped everyone try new things and celebrate their achievements.

💜 Our participants continue to be involved in the local community, connecting with others and making a positive impact along the way. At the YAEP, we focus on meaningful and purposeful adventures, creating memories, building life skills, and making every opportunity possible!

We are so proud of everyone for embracing the week with such positivity and courage. 🧡🩵💜
