Lesson 2742 Opening the doors.
I feel a little flat today. Well actually it is a deep sorrow.
It took me a while to work out why, because nothing is wrong. In fact, everything is exactly as it is supposed to be. But yesterday we changed over all the social media, and I think that made something very real for me.
Alasana Yoga exists no more.
I knew this was coming. I chose it. I was ready for it. I know it was the right decision and I am genuinely excited about what comes next. But there is something about seeing the name disappear, changing the accounts, handing things over and watching something that you created become part of the past that hits differently.
Sometimes we think that if we chose the ending, we shouldn't be sad about it. That if the change is good, we should only feel good. But two things can be true at the same time. I can know this is right and still feel the loss of what was. I can be excited about where I am going and still turn around for a moment and look at where I have been.
So today I am not trying to talk myself out of feeling flat. I am not trying to turn it into gratitude or positivity or convince myself that I should be feeling differently.
Instead, I have opened the doors.
I am letting the sunshine come in. I am letting the fresh air move through the space that has held so much over the last four years. Classes, conversations, laughter, tears, friendships, movement, stillness and thousands of little moments that made Alasana Yoga what it was.
Maybe that is what endings need sometimes.
Not another plan. Not another distraction. Not a rush towards whatever is next.
Just open the doors and let the air move through.
Alison
Alasana, A safe space to be you ®.
