Rolled your ankle? Tweaked your knee? πŸ€•

Within the first 48–72 hours of a minor injury, use the R.I.C.E. method to help manage pain and swelling and support the healing process 🧊.

If your symptoms aren't improving after 48–72 hours, or if you have severe pain, significant swelling, can't bear weight, or are concerned about your injury, book an appointment with your doctor for assessment.

Some people with bowel cancer have no symptoms at all and only find out through a routine screening test. 🚽

If symptoms do occur, they can include bleeding from the back passage or blood in your stools or on the toilet paper after wiping.

They may also include a recent and ongoing change in your bowel habits, such as looser stools, constipation, needing to go more often, narrower stools than usual, or a feeling that your bowel hasn't fully emptied.

Other possible symptoms are pain in the re**um or a**s, a lump in that area, abdominal pain, cramping or bloating, unexplained weight loss, or tiredness.

If you notice any of these symptoms, see your doctor.

Today is Rare Cancers Awareness Day πŸ’™

It’s a national day to shine a light on the experiences of people living with rare and less common cancers, and show them they are not alone.

Rare is more common than you think.

In Australia, someone is diagnosed with a rare or less common cancer every 12 minutes.

Although individually they may be rare, these cancers make up one-quarter of all cancer diagnoses in Australia, and account for one-third of cancer deaths.
