‘It is not everyone that is meant to stay in your life. It is not every hand you hold that is meant to hold you forever. It is not every voice that once comforted you that is meant to keep speaking into your future.
💔
Some people come into your life as seasons, and when their season expires, no amount of prayer, pressure, or persistence can make them permanent.
💔
Yet, because we are emotional beings, we try to stretch temporary things into eternity, and in doing so, we stretch ourselves into exhaustion.
💔
The tragedy of many lives is not that people leave; it is that we refuse to let them go. You see, not everything is meant to be fixed.
💔
This is a hard pill for good-hearted people to swallow. Because when you have a good heart, you believe everything can be repaired.' Pope Leo XIV

Let's be honest 😲 pleasure and pain are two sides of the same coin 😲 we experience both..Avidya in yoga philosophy is our misunderstanding, misconception of who we truly are, and that all will pass 🙏

There has been a 2-fold increase from 2002-2022 in meditation and mindfulness due to the proliferation of benefits to health and well-being.
🧘
But how much is enough?? And for how long? Numerous apps and practitioners claim that 5-10 minutes/day using digital platforms brings pronounced benefits. Is this true? Where is the evidence??
🧘
Delighted to share 2025 research from the in Melbourne with senior yoga teachers in the USA this week.
🧘
Even they could not believe that the research identified 20 hours/month (40 mins/daily) is necessary to see benefits in emotional and physical well-being. And the practice needs to be consistent every day!
🧘
The good news is that new meditators may benefit at a greater rate, reducing the amount of practice necessary for initial benefits than experienced meditators.
🧘‍♂️
I'd love to know how long is your practice and do you notice cumulative benefits?

Dear yoga mat

I remember when I stayed on you into the ‘wee’ hours of the morning. No I was not practising asana or even meditation! No I was not sleeping or even resting, simply recharging…And oh how funny in this 24/7 crazy world (that I loathe) – you are open 24/7!

You were my safe refuge at any hour on many occasions through years of step-parenting two teenage live-in boys. Yes 2, yes live in!! What was I thinking when I met my now husband??

Always a soft space to come back onto, always there waiting for me, always willing to accept me in any shape or form – tired, sleepy, teary, happy or not. I can still feel how you nestled me on so many evenings, gave me back the calm vibrations and positive energy I had lovingly poured into you. Giving me the courage, presence of mind, awareness of Self to step back into my life, the house, my reality.

You, yoga mat, are so much more to me than simply an available place and space on my hard yoga room floor. You represent the image of yoga I always held, understood. And now, even though many of my well-used mats are with past dedicated students, I miss you all. I miss you all even though now I have a cushy new thick model on top of you!

Opps.. I forgot to ask your wake up time but it’s anytime heh? Anytime I’m ready, need you, want you, but usually 6am and 5pm!

See you next time I’m there yoga mat xoxo

Do you entangle yourself in knots of your own making and struggle, lonely and confused. Yep!
🌀
Can you like a child begin again, learn from the things you do habitually, and make them conscious.
🌀
When you surrender to earth's intelligence and take a seat, you rise up.
🌀
This is what we can learn - not to fall, not to struggle, but patiently, quietly to trust ourselves again.
