📿 Beginner’s Mind 🪷
aka ✨CLOWN✨
The goal of practice is always to keep our beginner’s mind.
~ Shunryu Suzuki (?Gemini midheaven)
Modern life often pulls us into our anxious mind. The goal is to know. Not knowing is shameful, contemptible, even dangerous. Endlessly we strive and drive ourselves and each other crayyyyyzzzzzyyyyyy!!
But Real Life comes with a blindfold. To not know is a given. And to live, without knowing, is enough. Vulnerable, stuck, lost, anxious, scared, fearful i may be, the practice of Clown (*physical theatre) returns me, again and again, to my Beginner’s Mind, not confused but wide awake, not limp or weak but soft and floppy, not inexperienced but open and curious, not ignorant but discerning, not ingenious but naturally and scrumptiously stupid ✨🍰✨
Whoever you think you are, I hope you’ll soon find your dearest self a stupidly warm and loving and pleasure-filled clown family!! ✨💖✨
Special thanks to one of my favourite clowns joey for letting me practice clowning *blindfolded* so very most satisfyingly with a beautiful bunch yesterday ✨🌀✨
🌊🌝🔥
🌱P.S. Curious about clown practice but not quite ready for it yet? Our upcoming online mindfulness group can help uplift your faith and your capacity in your Beginner’s Mind aka your precious dormant Clown! (This i do know! 🤓)
