International Day for Biological Diversity - 22 May

Biodiversity is the variety of life on Earth - every plant, animal, fungi, and microorganism that makes up the web holding everything else together. Our food. Our water. Our medicine. Our climate. None of it works without it.

This year’s theme is acting locally for global impact. Which is perhaps the most honest thing the UN has ever said. Because the large-scale loss is made of small-scale decisions. What we grow. What we buy. What we pour down the drain.

A kind home is a local act.

So is choosing what’s in it carefully.
