Our Therapy Assistants have qualifications and work in collaboration with our qualified therapists who implement an individualised treatment plan to support your child to work towards their unique goals. A Therapy Assistant can support your child to practice the skills they learn in therapy and apply these throughout their daily life, whether at home, school, in the therapy room or within the community.

We’re excited to announce that a new Provisional Psychologist will be joining the Spectrum Village team from Tuesday, 6 October 2026.

Offering support for children and adolescents, our new psychologist brings experience across a broad range of areas, including:

• Autism and ADHD
• Anxiety and depression
• Emotional regulation
• Trauma and grief
• Relationships and parenting concerns
• Psychological assessments

We are now accepting appointment enquiries and expressions of interest.

A Special Thank You to Forest Edge Lawn Maintenance (Aaron & Bec).

We wanted to give a special shout-out to Forest Edge Gardening Maintenance for giving Ollie the opportunity to complete his very first day of work experience in lawn and garden maintenance. 💚

Forest Edge Gardening Maintenance are relatively new to our local area, and they’re already doing wonderful things for our community. They genuinely go above and beyond for their customers, and now they're also taking the time to give a young person an opportunity to learn, gain experience and build confidence in the workforce.

Ollie had a fantastic first day and received some great feedback about his positive attitude and willingness to work. There's plenty still to learn and that's exactly what opportunities like this are all about. 🌱

As a local business ourselves, we know how valuable it is when businesses support one another and invest back into the people in their community.

From Spectrum Village, and from me as a very proud mum, a massive thank you to Forest Edge Gardening Maintenance for giving Ollie a go and for going above and beyond. 🥰

You are allowed to be silly in this job.

Pulling faces, doing voices, losing at a board game on purpose, none of that makes you less professional. It makes you someone a child actually wants to be in the room with.

Kids do not open up for the therapist with the best plan. They open up for the one who is actually fun to be around.

If you are holding back because you think being playful looks unprofessional, let it go. Play is not the warm up before the real work starts. For a lot of these kids, play is the work.
