Fraser Coast Ortho-Bionomy

Fraser Coast Ortho-Bionomy I support you to become the best you can be through Ortho-Bionomy sessions, providing pain relief, improved posture and nervous system reset.

I can also teach you how to practice this amazing work. I received my first Ortho-Bionomy treatment in 1997, while struggling with an ongoing shoulder injury. I was intrigued that such a gentle method could have such powerful benefits. Within (3) treatments the chronic issue I had been living with for several years, and for which I'd undergone all kinds of treatment, resolved entirely. Coming from

a science and Remedial Massage background, I began to study with Ortho-Bonomy Instructors myself in 1998. Originally my interest was for the ongoing professional development requirements of health fund compliancy for the massage industry. I soon realised the benefits the treatment offered, beyond that of massage. Studying in a self paced way, I spent the next (10) years attending classes, incorporating Ortho-Bionomy into my treatemnts, and now practice and teach as an Advanced Practitioner and Instructor of Ortho-Bionomy. I practice Ortho-Bionomy exclusively in my clinic now for several reasons

Ortho-Bionomy is a gentle, non-invasive method of therapeutic bodywork which uniquely addresses pain and stress patterns and promotes structural balance and ease of movement. How does Ortho-Bionomy Work? Ortho-Bionomy differs from many forms of body work in that it doesn’t use pain to treat pain, or use forceful work to oppose what is structurally occurring within the body. Instead, Ortho-Bionomy interacts with the natural movement and structural patterns of the nervous system. These natural patterns are what allow our body to heal when injured. But sometimes, through injury, chronic pain, incorrect posture, repetitive overuse, disease or even aging, these patterns for self correction become overridden, confused, or inaccessible to the nervous system, and natural recovery can't occur. When we work supportively with the patterns currently at play within the body instead, of attempting to forcefully overpower them, information can be given to the nervous system that creates a follow-on effect through the body's natural reflexes. This allows corrections to occur comfortably for clients. Ortho-Bionomy Practitioners are trained to assess imbalances in the body that may cause pain or dysfunction. Then using gentle but deliberate movement, practitioners assist and track the client’s body as it accesses the self-corrective capacity, to return to optimum health.

Lots of km driving on dirt roads, canoeing and hiking through Lawn Hill NP, and birdwatching left me with a slightly sore neck and tightness between the shoulder blades. This Ortho-Bionomy self care practice was so helpful. Give it a try…. Picture included along with th scenery 😊
1. Seated on the front of a chair, rest your left arm on a chair behind you, as in the photo.
2. Walk your feet toward the right to slightly turn your body towards the right. This will soften the back of your shoulder and upper back.
3. Rest her for 30 to 60 seconds, being sure to relax the arm on the chair.
4. Repeat on the other side..

Our travels the last few days from Hervey Bay to Mt Isa, have given me the opportunity to be really present to the diversity and unique beauty of coastal and arid, city and country, mining and agricultural landscapes. In that presence the beauty of nature reveals itself in sunsets, a full moon, brolga as tall as me , swallows, apostle birds, termite mounds and a random peacock 💖

Today I depart for an adventure into the Kimberley region of Western Australia. I'm looking forward to connecting to the wide open spaces, and being present to what emerges along the way.
While I'm not in the clinic, I'll share some self-care practices on this page. Stay tuned.....
