Hi Everyone!
My name is Hollie, and together with my team Mel and Nils, we’ve recently brought Hollie Helps to Northern Tasmania.
Hollie Helps is a small psychosocial disability support service supporting people living with ASD, ADHD, anxiety and other psychosocial disabilities.
For us, support isn’t about filling hours in a roster or babysitting - It’s about understanding the person in front of us.
Many of the people we support have spent years feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or pushed into systems that don’t quite fit them. Our approach is slower, more thoughtful, and grounded in trauma-informed, person-centred support.
We take the time to learn:
• what feels safe
• what feels overwhelming
• what actually helps
• and what the person themselves wants life to look like
Before any supports begin we create detailed Support & Care Plans so that everyone — participant, family and workers — understands how support should look and feel.
Because we take this process seriously, we onboard slowly.
Right now we have capacity to welcome 3 new participants.
Our team comes fully prepared and professionally qualified, including:
✔️ Full insurance
✔️ NDIS Worker Screening Checks
✔️ Police Checks
✔️ First Aid & CPR
✔️ Relevant training and qualifications
✔️ NDIS Worker Modules
We also write case notes after every shift, reflect on what worked well, what felt stressful, and what might be helpful next time. Support should evolve with the person.
Supports can look very different depending on the individual.
For example, if someone’s goal is healthy eating, support might involve:
🌱 Visiting local community gardens
🌱 Growing fresh produce
🌱 Learning simple cooking skills
🌱 Preparing meals together for the week
For others it may be about building confidence in the community, developing independence, exploring interests, or simply having a calm and supportive presence while navigating life.
Our work is built on empathy, patience, and genuine connection.
If you are a participant, family member, support coordinator or plan manager looking for thoughtful, respectful supports in Deloraine, Launceston or surrounding areas, feel free to reach out.
We would love to connect.
