💜 Bundaberg Lymphoedema Support Group 💜

Living with lymphoedema can be challenging, but you don’t have to manage it alone.

The Bundaberg Lymphoedema Support Group has been supporting people living with lymphoedema for over 30 years, providing a welcoming space to share experiences, practical information and emotional support for managing this chronic condition.

🌿 When: 5 times a year — February, April, June, August & October
📍 Where: Catholic Care, 79 Woongarra Street, Bundaberg
🕤 Time: 9.30am – approximately 11.30am
☕ Morning tea provided
🚗 Off-street parking available
💜 No cost to attend

Whether you are newly diagnosed, have been living with lymphoedema for many years, or would simply like to connect with others who understand, you are very welcome to come along.

Compression therapy doesn't look the way it used to.
When many people hear the words compression garments, they picture thick, beige stockings that are difficult to wear and even harder to put on.

Lymphoedema? How many lymphies Australia wide? Unknown! Medicare item number? What Medicare item number?

There is no dedicated Medicare item number for general lymphoedema. Just to touch on a on a couple of things, without an item number it means the Australian Federal Government has no real data captured on the prevalence and cost of lymphoedema in Australia. What can we all do about it?

ALA Day 4 – that’s a wrap ✨

As is often the case after a conference, I’m heading home with more questions than answers—and a growing list of things to do.

It’s been an incredible opportunity to connect, learn, and build meaningful networks.

What I do know for sure - there is a passionate community of dedicated professionals committed to making a real difference in the world of lymphoedema and I am grateful to be a part of it.

Today’s hot topics included
- Cellulitis and the significant cost of medical management vs compression/prevention.
- Lipoedema, with valuable insights into misconceptions, misdiagnosis, and why BMI is misleading.

I also had the opportunity to explore new technologies, including LymphaTouch and the lymph scanner—always exciting to see advancements in this space.
