I feel like this might be my year of personal growth. Especially as Aspies, most of us try to learn the rules and follow them. But hey, rules were meant to be broken 😉 I've always struggled with perfectionism. As a busy mum of three, who also wears a number of work hats, trying to get everything done is a battle of the never-ending to-do list 😵‍💫 So the rule has changed to, "I do not have to finish everything to be worthy of rest", which are the sage words of Dominee from .

I've always felt guilty for resting, when there are still things on the list, but no more! And what is rest? Well, it will be something different to everyone. Here's some of the things that feel like rest to me; catching up with friends who fill up my battery, watching trashy TV shows, reading books that transport me into different lives and times, spending time with my family, holidays 📖📺✈️ Take a moment in your busy day to reflect on whether you're taking those moments to rest (if I can do it, you can too!), and what they look like for you 🤔 Feel free to post your reflections.

Glen Eira City Council has recently begun a wonderful new collaboration with Extended Families Australia, who reached out to offer a range of fun, inclusive activities and events for people with disabilities, their families, and carers. The first of three FREE events in 2026 will be held at Caulfield Park on Saturday 9 May, from 11am to 1pm 🦸🏼🦹🏼

Kaboose App is an incredible initiative, by an awesome mum, that has been set up as a community for neurodivergent individuals to find friends, social and support groups, peer support and jobs. They have some interesting and diverse offerings coming up, many of them FREE. Check them out!

We have booked a private room as we know that sensory issues are a real thing for many in our community - me included 🫨 Hope you can join us 🤗

Next week marks Neurodiversity Celebration Week. We have two FREE upcoming events to celebrate and hope that you can make it to one or both of them 🤞🏼

I particularly love that, as a UK-based initiative, they have adopted the acronym ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition). Yay to celebrating the acknowledgement that we're not D for disordered 🥳

There are some great, neuroaffirming resources on their website. Workplaces are a particularly tricky area for inclusion and understanding, so I have attached some of their suggested conversation starters, which could also be used more widely.
