🐞💕 The Ladybug Club is ready to spread its wings! 💕

We’re so excited to be kicking off The Ladybug Club this Wednesday! 🌈✨

A fun, welcoming and neurodiversity-affirming space for girls to connect, build friendships, grow their confidence and, most importantly, be themselves! 💜

Through crafts, games, creative activities and play, we’ll be supporting our little ladybugs to navigate friendships, practise social skills, express themselves and feel a sense of belonging.

There’s no pressure to fit in or be anyone other than YOU! 🐞

🌸 When: Wednesdays, 3:45pm – 5:15pm
🌸 Where: The Place Therapy, Highfields
🌸 Who: Girls who would benefit from a little extra support with friendships, confidence and social connections.

💜 A little about the cost

As always, we love to be super transparent about our pricing!

The Ladybug Club is $193.99 per participant, per 1.5-hour session.

This fee reflects the shared cost of OT and AHA facilitation, session planning, preparation and resources, with pricing structured in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. 💕

💌 We’d love to welcome some new ladybugs!

If you think your little one would enjoy being part of our club, we’d love to hear from you!

📧 Email [email protected] to find out more or secure your spot!

🐞 Come as you are. There’s a place for you here! 💕

Good teams don’t just happen. They take good humans, good planning and a little bit of patience. ✨🦄

While we’ve been busy running school holiday groups, welcoming wonderful new families and keeping all the usual moving parts of The Place moving… we’ve also been spending a lot of time thinking about our future.

What our families need.

What our community needs.

And most importantly, who we want beside us as we keep building The Place.

We’ve always said we don’t want to grow just for the sake of growing. We want the right people — people who get what we do, care deeply about the families we work with, and bring something pretty special to our team.

And it turns out, we’ve found a few of them. 👀

There are some wonderful new faces coming to The Place very soon… and we think you’re going to be just as excited about them as we are.

For now, that’s all you’re getting. 🤫

Watch this space. The next chapter is looking pretty darn good. 🧡

🐸 Going off like a frog in a sock.

Our FAVOURITE time of the school holidays has been in full swing … GROUPS! 🙌

The Place has been absolutely buzzing with cooking, creating, experimenting, making, laughing, getting messy and trying new things.

There’s something pretty special about seeing kids find their people, join in their way, build confidence without even realising it, and have a genuinely good time at therapy.

Because sometimes therapy looks like goals, assessments and appointments.

And sometimes it looks like oobleck everywhere, questionable science experiments, homemade chicken nuggets, crafts, new friendships and organised chaos. 😂

We know which version we like best.

🧡This is what we do.

Family Support at The Place isn’t about handing you another list of strategies and sending you on your way.

It’s about sitting down with you and working through the real stuff happening in your family.

The mornings that are chaos.
The school refusal.
The meltdowns that seem to come from nowhere.
The sibling battles.
The boundaries that work one day and absolutely don’t the next.
The PDA. The burnout. The big emotions.
The “we’ve tried everything… now what?” moments.

We help families understand what’s going on underneath it all, work out what needs to change, and build practical strategies that actually make sense for their child and their family.

Sometimes that means changing routines.

Sometimes it means dropping demands.

Sometimes it means understanding behaviour differently.

Sometimes it means supporting parents to feel confident doing things in a completely different way.

And sometimes it’s simply having someone in your corner who gets it.

✨ That’s Family Support at The Place.

We now have Family Support packages available, giving families the option of a structured block of support tailored to what’s happening at home right now.

No cookie-cutter parenting advice.
No judgement.
Just practical, neuro-affirming support for real families doing real life.

This must be The Place. 🏡

✨ WELL… THIS WAS A PRETTY SPECIAL ONE. ✨

On Friday night, we swapped the therapy gear for something a little fancier and headed to the Toowoomba Chamber Business Excellence Awards as finalists for Best New Business. 🥹🧡

And while we didn’t take home the trophy, getting to see THE PLACE up there on that big screen was a bit of a holy moly, look what we built moment.

The Place started with a pretty simple idea — that therapy could feel different. That families could walk through the door and feel like they belong. That our team could do really great work, while still having fun, being human and doing things our own way.

And somehow that little idea has turned into this.

A beautiful team. A whole lot of incredible families. A growing community. And now… a Best New Business finalist. 🥳

We’re pretty darn proud of this one.

Thank you to our team, our families and everyone who has backed this slightly crazy idea from the beginning. 🧡

We might not have won the trophy… but getting all of us dressed up and in the same place at the same time deserves an award of its own. 😂🏆

This must be The Place.

🍦 SLIME, SPRINKLES & A WHOLE LOT OF FUN! ✨

We had the BEST time at Highfields Kindy family day with our very official, very serious… Ice Cream Slime Stand 😂🍦

Tiny hands got busy mixing, squishing, sprinkling and creating some truly questionable-looking “ice creams” — and we absolutely loved the chaos.

Even better, some of our own The Place families jumped behind the stand and got to work. Apparently therapy comes with work experience now. 😂🤷‍♀️

A huge thank you to the Highfields Kindy crew for having us and to all the families who came over, had a play, made a mess and embraced the slime!

10/10 would slime again. 🧡

Just another day of doing things a little differently at The Place.

This must be The Place. 🏡

“Behaviour is communication.”

You’ve probably heard that one before.

But the more useful question is:

What is it telling us?

When we see hitting, yelling, running away, shutting down, refusing, throwing things or becoming completely overwhelmed, we don’t just look at the behaviour itself.

We get curious about what is happening around it.

Is the person trying to escape something that feels too hard?

Are they overwhelmed by noise, people, demands or sensory input?

Is communication breaking down?

Are expectations greater than their capacity in that moment?

Are they tired, hungry, anxious or uncomfortable?

Have they learnt that this is the only reliable way to make something stop?

Or are we asking them to cope with an environment that simply isn’t working for them?

Good behaviour support isn’t about finding a better consequence.

It’s about understanding why the behaviour makes sense for that person — and then changing the support around them.

Because when we understand the why, we have a much better chance of helping with what comes next. 🧡

That’s where behaviour support should start.
