💜 Wear It Purple Day 2026 💜

This Friday, 28 August, is Wear It Purple Day! 🌈

Join us at AHCWA by wearing something purple to show your support for LGBTQIA+ young people and help create safe, inclusive and welcoming communities where everyone feels supported to be proud of who they are. 💜

A little purple can send a big message of support, inclusion and belonging.

Getting an STI test isn’t something to be ashamed of — it’s just part of looking after your sexual health
STIs are common, and some can have no symptoms at all, which means you might not know you have one without getting tested.

Having an STI doesn’t make someone dirty or irresponsible, and getting tested doesn’t mean you’ve done anything wrong.
No shame. No judgement. Just looking after yourself and each other.

🚩Let’s talk relationship red flags.

Checking your partner’s location constantly, getting angry when they don’t reply straight away, or making them feel bad for spending time with their friends might be passed off as
“caring” or “being protective” but these behaviours can become controlling and unhealthy.

Healthy relationships need:
Trust — you don’t need to know where
your partner is 24/7
Space - both people are allowed to have
their own friends and lives
Respect - your partner doesn’t owe you
an instant reply
Communication — talk about how you feel
without controlling the other person

There’s a difference between “let me know you got home safe” and “why did you turn your location off?”

Consent isn’t just the absence of a “no” 🗣️

Consent means there is a clear, willing and freely given yes from everyone involved.

Someone being quiet, freezing up, not fighting back or just “going along with it” does NOT automatically mean they’re consenting.

Consent should be:
✨ Freely given — no pressure, guilt or fear
🗣️ Communicated — don’t assume, check in
🔄 Ongoing — saying yes once doesn’t mean yes to everything
✋ Reversible — anyone can change their mind at ANY time

If you’re not sure, ask. A simple “Are you okay with this?” or “Do you want to keep going?” can make all the difference.

No assumptions. No pressure. Real consent is a choice. ❤️

🚨 GREEN FLAG DETECTED 🚨 Respecting boundaries shouldn’t be rare—it should be normal. A healthy relationship means feeling safe, heard, and respected. 💚

Myth or Fact? You can’t tell if someone has an STI just by looking at them. Many STIs have no symptoms, which is why regular testing matters. 🤔🫡
